Shyu Jyuo-min
Shyu Jyuo-min () is a Taiwanese engineer and politician. He was the Minister of Science and Technology from 23 January 2015 until 20 May 2016. Education Shyu obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University in 1977 and 1979, respectively. He then obtained his doctoral degree in electrical engineering from University of California, Berkeley in the United States in 1988. Early career In 1981–1984, Shyu worked as a researcher at Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. In 2000–2001, he became the director-general of the SoC Technology Center of Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and as director-general of Electronics Research and Service Organization of ITRI in 2000–2004. Executive Yuan
The Executive Yuan () is the executive branch of the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Its leader is the Premier, who is appointed by the President of the Republic of China, and requires confirmation by the Legislative Yuan. Under the amended constitution, the head of the Executive Yuan is the Premier who is positioned as the head of government and has the power to appoint members to serve in the cabinet, while the ROC President is the head of state under the semi-presidential system, who can appoint the Premier and nominate the members of the cabinet. National Tsing Hua University (NTHU; ) is a public research university in Hsinchu City, Taiwan. National Tsing Hua University was first founded in Beijing. Taiwanese People
Taiwanese people may be generally considered the people of Taiwan who share a common culture, ancestry and speak Taiwanese Mandarin, Hokkien, Hakka or indigenous Taiwanese languages as a mother tongue. Taiwanese people may also refer to the indigenous peoples of the areas under the control of the Government of the Republic of China since 1945, including Penghu as well as Kinmen and Matsu Islands that collectively form its streamlined Fujian Province (see Taiwan Area).
