Shoreline School District
The Shoreline School District (No. 412) is a public school district in King County, Washington, United States of America, which serves the cities of Shoreline and Lake Forest Park. It currently enrolls 9,456 students, and staffs 1,019 employees as of the 2020–2021 school year. It is located right on the boundary between King County and Snohomish County. The District currently controls 15 schools; 1 Early Learning Center, 9 elementary schools, 1 K–8 STEM school, 2 middle schools and 2 high schools, Shorecrest and Shorewood. Former school buildings have been reused for many tasks, with the original Shoreline High School being repurposed for City of Shoreline endeavors as well as District offices. North City Elementary has been reused temporarily as Parkwood Elementary was in the process of being remodeled, and North City has also been used as a testing facility. Shoreline is a city in King County, Washington, United States. It is located between the city limits of Seattle and the Snohomish County border, approximately north of Downtown Seattle. As of the 2020 census, the population of Shoreline was 58,608, making it the 22nd largest city in the state. Based on per capita income, one of the more reliable measures of affluence, Shoreline ranks 91st of 522 areas in the state of Washington to be ranked. History Shoreline began in 1890 with the platting of the neighborhood of Richmond Beach, on Puget Sound, in anticipation of the arrival of the Great Northern Railway the next year. Over the next two decades, Shoreline was connected to Seattle via the Seattle- Everett Interurban streetcar line (1906) and North Trunk Road (now Aurora Avenue N., State Route 99) (1913), helping to increase its population.
