Shock Horror
"Shock Horror" is the second single released by Scottish band The View, from their second album ''Which Bitch?''. The B-side on the CD release is "My Mother". The song was available in MP3 format from 5 December 2008, when the 7" was pre-ordered from the band's official website. The video for the song was released in December 2008. The song received better airplay than the previous single "5Rebbeccas" did, but it performed even worse than its predecessor, charting only at No. 64 in the UK Singles Chart before dropping to No. 94 in its second week. The View (band)
The View are a Scottish indie rock band. They incorporate various styles such as punk, pop, alternative rock, and folk in their music. They are best known for their 2007 single "Same Jeans" which reached number 3 on the UK Singles Chart. The band have released five studio albums since their platinum selling debut ''Hats Off to the Buskers'', which topped the UK Albums Chart in January 2007 and was nominated for the 2007 Mercury Music Prize. Despite never matching this early success, they enjoy a large fanbase in their native Scotland with albums regularly topping the Scottish Albums Chart. 1965 Records is a London-based subsidiary record label of SonyBMG. Formed in 2006 in British music, 2006, the label was founded by James Endeacott (formerly of Rough Trade Records), who first signed The Libertines. Kyle Falconer
Kyle Francis Falconer (born 6 June 1987) is a Scottish musician, singer and songwriter. He is best known as the lead vocalist of The View. Along with the other band members, Falconer hails from the Dryburgh district of Dundee. He shares songwriting responsibilities with bass guitarist Kieren Webster. In July 2018, Falconer released his debut solo album titled 'No Thank You' independently. The record reached number 1 in the Record Store Chart in the week of the release and achieved a top 40 position in the UK Album Chart. Kieren Webster
Kieren Clark Webster (born 10 May 1986) is the bass guitarist and occasional lead vocalist for Scottish band The View; he is also the lead vocalist for band WEB. On 27 March 2020 WEB released their first single 'Haze'. Along with frontman Kyle Falconer, he writes the majority of The View's material. In 2006, he was placed 6th in NME's Cool List. He and Falconer alternate roles on some songs such as "Skag Trendy", "Gran's for Tea", "One Off Pretender", "Realisation", "Fireworks and Flowers", "Hole in the Bed" and "Cracks", with Webster taking on guitar and lead vocals and Falconer replacing him as bass guitarist and backing vocalist. "5 Rebbecca's" is the first single released by Dundee indie band The View from their second album ''Which Bitch?''. The single was released on 27 October 2008. The music video for the single was released on YouTube on 23 September 2008, with a handwritten version of the lyrics released on the band's website two days later. The video itself features a mixture of live action footage with animation. In its first week after release, the single marked a disappointing return for The View, only reaching number 57 on the UK Singles Chart before dropping out of the UK top 100 the following week. ''Which Bitch?'' is the second album from Scottish band The View which was released 2 February 2009. Paolo Nutini guests on the track "Covers". "Gem of a Bird" is about Kyle Falconer's girlfriend Katie Gwyther, with whom the song is a duet. The album received mixed reviews from critics and debuted at number 4 on the official UK Albums chart in its first week of release, but in stark contrast to its predecessor ''Hats Off to the Buskers'' it dropped down the charts quickly and spent two weeks in the UK top 40; it fell to No. 27 in its second week before dropping out altogether.
