Shizue Abe (あべ静江, ''Abe Shizue'', born November 28, 1951, in Matsusaka, Mie, Japan) is a Japanese actress and singer. Biography Shizue Abe debuted as an idol with the song ''"Coffee Shop De"'' (At The Coffee Shop) in May 1973. It was written by famous Japanese lyricist Yū Aku. The song sold over 280,000 copies and rose to the #9 position on the Oricon chart list. It earned her a nomination for "''Best Newcomer of the Year''" at the 15th Japan Record Awards, but was beaten by Junko Sakurada. Her second single, ''"Mizuiro no Tegami"'' (The Lightblue Letters), rose to the #7 position on the Oricon chart list, selling over 260,000 copies. was a Japanese actress. Career Natsukawa was born in Tokyo and first appeared on stage at age seven. She joined the Nikkatsu studio in 1927 and came to fame through such films as ''Kantsubaki'' and Kenji Mizoguchi's ''Tokyo March''. Shizue Tatsuta ( ja, link=no, 龍田 静枝) (3 November 1903 - 21 January 1962) was the stage name of Shizue Shiono, a Japanese actress who starred in silent movies. Born in Yamagata Prefecture, she briefly attended Japan Women's University but did not graduate. Moving to Kyoto and joining the Shochiku Studio in 1924, she subsequently starred in over seventy silent films, primarily in the role of modern girl. is an Ainu activist, artist, and poet. Early life Ukaji was born on March 13, 1933 in Urakawa, Hokkaido. She and her siblings grew up without much money, and would skip school and get part-time jobs to help support the family. When she was 20 years old, she moved to Sapporo to attend junior high school, even though she was much older than her classmates. She moved to Tokyo when she was 23, hoping that there would be less discrimination against Ainu there than in Hokkaido. She worked as a waitress, and furthered her education by listening to the college students who came by and reading what they were reading. She later got married and had a son, Takashi Ukaji. Career Ukaji became an active part of the indigenous rights movement for Ainu people during the 1970s. She petitioned Mayor Ryokichi Minobe for the 1975 survey of the socio-economic conditions of Ainu in Tokyo.
