Shivanand Tiwari
Shivanand Tiwari (born 1943) is a prominent politician from Bhojpur district, Bihar who was a member and an officer of the Janata Dal (United) political party, which he represented in the Rajya Sabha. First he was a prominent leader and spokesperson of Lalu Prasad Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal party. Later he was the General Secretary and spokesman for the JD (U). On 27 February 2014 he was denied renomination to Rajya Sabha, and expelled from the Nitish's Janata faction along with four other Lok Sabha members of the party. After his stint with Nitish's Janata Dal (U), he re-joined Lalu Prasad Yadav's RJD. Bhojpur district is one of the thirty-eight districts of the Indian state of Bihar. Arrah town (also known as Ara) is the administrative headquarters of this district. Bhojpur district came into existence in 1972. Earlier it was the part of Shahabad district. This district is named "Bhojpur" after great Parmara King Bhoja as most early settlers were Rajput rulers of Parmara dynasty then called as Ujjainiya. The Rajya Sabha (meaning the "Council of States") is the upper house of the Parliament of India. Bihar state elects 16 members since 2002 biennial elections. Earlier, Bihar State elected 21 seats since April 1952 and 22 seats since 1956 and 16 members after the Bihar Reorganisation Act 2000 and creation of new Jharkhand state on 15 November 2000. Bihar Legislative Assembly
The Bihar Legislative Assembly, also known as the Bihar Vidhan Sabha, is the lower house of the Bihar Legislature where the first elections were held in 1952. The total strength of membership in the Assembly was 331, including one nominated member. Dr.Shri Krishna Singh became the first Leader of the House and the first Chief Minister, Dr. Anugrah Narayan Singh was elected as the first Deputy Leader of the Assembly and became state's first Deputy Chief Minister.
