Shivaji Tupe
Shivaji Tupe was an Indian artist from Nashik. He was known for his work in watercolor medium and sketches that illustrated the beauty of nature. He was more interested in portraying the scenic beauty of river banks such as Godavari Ghaats in Nashik and Gangaa Ghaats of Banaras, over five decades. Early life and education Shivaji Tupe was born in the family with art background. He was born in a small village Sinnar in Nashik district. His interest in art was no surprise for his family. Tupe took the painting as passion, rather than just a profession. He completed his formal education in arts from J.J. School of arts in Mumbai in 1957. Work and achievements Shivaji Tupe is well known among the community for putting the aesthetics of Godaghaat on canvas. Nashik
Nashik (, Marathi: aːʃik, also called as Nasik ) is a city in the northern region of the Indian state of Maharashtra. Bombay Art Society
The Bombay Art Society is a non-profit art organization based in Mumbai. The institution was founded in 1888 for encouraging and promoting art. Most of the renowned artists on India's art scene have been associated with the Bombay Art Society in some way. The Academy of Fine Arts, in Kolkata (formerly Calcutta) is one of the oldest fine arts societies in India. History The academy was formally established in 1933 by Lady Ranu Mukherjee. It was initially located in a room loaned by the Indian Museum, and the annual exhibitions used to take place in the adjoining verandah.
