Shirma Rouse
Shirma Rouse is a Dutch singer, who was a participant in ''The Voice of Holland,'' was named best backing singer in the Eurovision Song Contest by ''The Eurovision Times'' in 2013 and was invited to the funeral of Aretha Franklin due to the popularity of her tribute album to the artist. Biography Rouse born in Curaçao, but grew up on Sint Eustatius. At the age of nineteen she moved to Rotterdam to pursue a degree in Chemistry; however she joined a choir and transferred to a degree programme in Jazz Vocals. In 2010 Rouse released an album of soul music called ''Chocolate Coated Dreams''. In 2012, a second CD was released, ''Shirma Rouse sings Aretha'', with which she did a theatre tour. ''The Voice of Holland'', also known as ''TVOH'', is a Dutch reality TV singing competition, that became a near global TV format franchise, created by media tycoon John de Mol and musician Roel van Velzen, in the Netherlands airing on RTL 4. For the first nine seasons, The Voice of Holland was hosted by Martijn Krabbé and Wendy van Dijk. Starting from the tenth season (2019–2020), Wendy van Dijk was replaced by Chantal Janzen. The central focus of the show is the singing talent and quality of the contestants. The Eurovision Song Contest 2013 was the 58th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Malmö, Sweden, following the country's victory at the with the song "Euphoria" by Loreen. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT), the contest was held at Malmö Arena and consisted of two semi-finals on 14 and 16 May, and a final on 18 May 2013. Herman Frans Martha Brusselmans (; born 9 October 1957) is a Belgian novelist, poet, playwright and columnist. He lives in Ghent. He is one of the best-selling authors in Flanders, but controversial at the same time for his profane language and offensive comedy.
