Shirley Bottolfsen
Shirley Isabelle Theresa Bernadette Bottolfsen (12 February 1934 – 24 December 2021) was an Irish humanitarian activist based in Bodø, Norway. For over forty years she raised money to help the poor. Biography Bottolfsen was born in County Tipperary, Munster, Ireland, on 12 February 1934 as the eldest of five children in a Catholic family. She immigrated to Bodø in 1956 with her first husband, a Norwegian sailor. He died at sea a few years later, leaving her with two young children. In 1983 she remarried to Per Bottolfsen, a dentist. Bottolfsen worked with the Salvation Army and the municipality, but also as a one-person fundraising group. Her primary fundraising method was to stand for hours in the ''Glasshuset'' (glass house) covered section of the pedestrian precinct in central Bodø with a collection bucket; she also ran a summer lottery. she had raised 7 million kroner. County Tipperary
County Tipperary ( ga, Contae Thiobraid Árann) is a county in Ireland. It is in the province of Munster and the Southern Region. The county is named after the town of Tipperary, and was established in the early 13th century, shortly after the Norman invasion of Ireland. It is Ireland's largest inland county and shares a border with 8 counties, more than any other. The population of the county was 159,553 at the 2016 census. The largest towns are Clonmel, Nenagh and Thurles. Tipperary County Council is the local authority for the county. In 1838, County Tipperary was divided into two ridings, North and South. Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. In 2016, circulation numbers stood at 93,883, having declined from a peak circulation of 390,510 in 2002. John Alvheim
John Ingolf Alvheim (21 May 1930 – 5 December 2005) was a Norwegian politician for the Progress Party. He was a nurse anesthetist by profession, and served as aid worker in several developing countries during the 1970s. Alvheim was highly respected, also by his political opponents, for his vigorous fight for society's disadvantaged. Personal life Alvheim was born in Øygarden, Hordaland, to fisherman and farmer Joakim Knutsen Alvheim (1893–1958) and housewife Ingeborg Larsen (1895–1972). From 1954 to 1956 he worked in the Norwegian Navy as a Medical Quartermaster, and finished his education as a nurse anesthetist. After working some years in Norway at ''Askim sykehus'', from 1958 to 1961 he worked as head nurse at the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, and later returned to work in Norway at ''Notodden sykehus''.
