Shin Mi-sung
Shin Mi-sung (born April 15, 1978) is a South Korean curler who competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics for South Korea. Career Shin was born in Seoul, South Korea, and competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics for South Korea. She teamed with Kim Ji-sun, Lee Seul-bee, Gim Un-chi and Um Min-ji in the women's tournament. She began the tournament playing second, but ended up playing only four of the nine games, as the South Korean team went 3-6 to finish in a tie for 8th. She curled 73%, which was 9th out of the 10 seconds. Shin made her World Curling Championships debut in 2002 as second for Kim Mi-yeon. It was the first time the South Korean team qualified for a World Championship. They finished with a winless 0–9 record. In 2009, the Kim Mi-yeon team went 3–6. Korean Curling Championships
The Korean Curling Championships (branded as the KB Financial Korean Curling Championships from 2012 to 2022) are the annual Korean men's and women's curling championships, organized by the Korean Curling Federation (KCF). The winners of the championship qualify for the Korean National Team. Until 2022, they earned the right to represent South Korea at the Pacific-Asia Curling Championships (PACC) and the World Curling Championships if they reached qualification. Every four years, the winners also qualify to represent South Korea at the Winter Olympic Games if the country received a berth. The championship also qualifies the winners for the Asian Winter Games if it is held during the season they are the national team. Starting in 2022, the winners of the championships qualified for the Pan Continental Curling Championships, which replaced the PACC. Sungshin Women's University
Sungshin Women's University (Korean: 성신여자대학교) is a private women's university located in Seoul, South Korea. It was founded in 1936 by Dr. Sook-Chong Lee. During the 1960s and 70s, Sungshin was a Teachers College in South Korea. Then, in the 1980s, the college was promoted to the status of a comprehensive university. Today, the university comprises ten colleges and five graduate schools with total enrollment of about 12,000 students. In 2006, the university rebuilt the ''Sungshin Hall'' to mark the university's 70th anniversary. Kim Mi-yeon (born October 20, 1979) is a South Korean curler. She was the skip of the South Korean National Women's Curling Team at the 2002 and 2009 World Curling Championships. Career Kim skipped the Korean team to a Pacific Curling Championships gold medal in 2001, earning the Korean team their first ever appearance at the World Curling Championships. At the 2002 Worlds, the team finished last and without a single win, going 0-9. Kim had a successful 2008–09 season which began with a Strauss Crown of Curling victory in October, and a silver medal at the Pacific Championships. World Curling Championships
The World Curling Championships are the annual world championships for curling, organized by the World Curling Federation and contested by national championship teams. There are men's, women's and mixed doubles championships, as well as men's and women's versions of junior and senior championships. There is also a world championship for wheelchair curling. The men's championship started in 1959, while the women's started in 1979. The mixed doubles championship was started in 2008. Since 2005, the men's and women's championships have been held in different venues, with Canada hosting one of the two championships every year: the men's championship in odd years, and the women's championship in even years. Gim Eun-ji also known as Gim Un-chi (born January 23, 1990) is a Korean curler from Gyeonggi-do. She currently skips the Gyeonggi Province curling team. Career Gim played as lead in her first world championship at the 2011 Capital One World Women's Curling Championship along with skip Kim Ji-sun. The team struggled finishing in last place with a 2–9 record. At the 2012 World Women's Curling Championship, South Korea made history by making the playoffs for the first time with a 8–3 record. They defeated Canada to advance to the semifinal, but lost a close game against eventual champions Switzerland.
