is a List of towns in Japan, town located in Ikoma District, Nara, Ikoma District, Nara Prefecture, Japan. Ikoma Line
The is a railway line of Kintetsu Railway in Nara Prefecture, Japan connecting Ikoma Station in the city of Ikoma and Ōji Station in the town of Ōji. Having a total length of , the entirely electrified standard gauge line is partially double-tracked. All trains stop at all 12 stations (including both termini) along the line. History The Nobutaka Ikoma Electric Railway Co. opened the line in 1922, electrified at 600 VDC. The company merged with Kintetsu in 1964, and in 1969 the voltage was raised to 1500 VDC. Tatsuta Shrine
is a Shinto shrine located in Sangō, Nara in Japan. The shrine is also known in Japanese (esp. formerly) as . The Shrine became the object of Imperial patronage during the early Heian period. In 965, Emperor Murakami ordered that Imperial messengers were sent to report important events to the guardian ''kami'' of Japan. These ''heihaku'' were initially presented to 16 shrines including the Tatsuta Shrine. Mount Shigi
is a mountain located in Ikoma District, Nara, Japan. Legends Legend of Prince Shotoku One of the legends of Mt. Shigi tells of Prince Shotoku asking for victory from the gods over his opponents. Prince Shotoku was a descendant of the Soga family, who had loyalty to Buddhism. During the Year of the Tiger, Prince Shotoku was promoting Buddhism, and was in conflict with the Mononobe family. While at Mt. Shigi, Prince Shotoku prayed for a victory over Mononobe no Moriya. Bishamonten, the Buddhist deity of war, then visited him during the Hour of the Tiger, on the Day of the Tiger. Bishamonten then lead Prince Shotoku to victory in the Battle of Shigisen. Prince Shotoku then built a shrine in his honor.
