The Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica (CGA) of the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) is the authoritative international gazetteer containing all Antarctic toponyms published in national gazetteers, plus basic information about those names and the relevant geographical features. Antarctic Place-names Commission
The Antarctic Place-names Commission was established by the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute in 1994, and since 2001 has been a body affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria. The Commission approves Bulgarian place names in Antarctica, which are formally given by the President of the Republic according to the Bulgarian Constitution (Art. 98) and the established international practice. Bulgarian names in Antarctica Geographical names in Antarctica reflect the history and practice of Antarctic exploration. The nations involved in Antarctic research give new names to nameless geographical features for the purposes of orientation, logistics, and international scientific cooperation. Kondolov Peak
Kondolov Peak ( bg, Кондолов връх, Kondolov vrah, ) is the mostly ice-covered peak of elevation 900 m in Solvay Mountains on Brabant Island in the Palmer Archipelago, Antarctica. It has steep and partly ice-free southwest and northwest slopes, and surmounts Jenner Glacier to the southeast, Duperré Bay to the southwest and Dimkov Glacier to the west-northwest. The peak is named after Georgi Kondolov (1858-1903), a leader of the Bulgarian liberation movement in Thrace and Macedonia. Zabel Point
Zabel Point ( bg, нос Забел, ‘Nos Zabel’ \'nos 'za-bel\) is the ice-covered, rock-tipped point on the southwest side of the entrance to Buragara Cove on the west coast of Brabant Island in the Palmer Archipelago, Antarctica. It was formed as a result of the retreat of Rush Glacier near the start of the 21st century. The point is named after the settlement of Zabel in Western Bulgaria. Solvay Mountains
The Solvay Mountains are a mountain range that rises to 1590 m (Cook Summit) and extends in an ENE–WSW direction in the south part of Brabant Island, in the Palmer Archipelago of Antarctica. They were discovered by the Belgian Antarctic Expedition of 1897–99, under Adrien de Gerlache, and named by him for Ernest-John Solvay (1895-1972), the recently-born grandson of Ernest Solvay, who sponsored the expedition. The name originally extended along the entire east coast of the island but has been limited to the prominent mountains in the south, while the principal group of mountains farther north was subsequently named Stribog Mountains, separated from Solvay Mountains by Aluzore Gap. Dimkov Glacier
Dimkov Glacier ( bg, Димков ледник, Dimkov lednik, ) is a 6 km long and 4.3 km wide glacier draining the western slopes of Solvay Mountains on Brabant Island in the Palmer Archipelago, Antarctica. It is situated southwest of Rush Glacier and west of Jenner Glacier, and flows southwestwards between Kondolov Peak and Sheynovo Peak to enter Duperré Bay south of Humann Point. The glacier is named for the Bulgarian theoretician and practitioner of traditional medicine Petar Dimkov (1886-1981). Rush Glacier
Rush Glacier () is a glacier in Antarctica. Situated in southern Brabant Island, it is 4 nautical miles (7 km) long, draining the northwest slopes of Solvay Mountains and flowing west between Mount Aciar and Mount Sarnegor into the Buragara Cove of Dallmann Bay in the Palmer Archipelago. It was shown on an Argentine government chart in 1953, but not named. It was photographed by Hunting Aerosurveys Ltd in 1956–57, and mapped from these photos in 1959. The glacier was named by the United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) for Benjamin Rush (1745–1813), a noted American physician and philanthropist, and a signatory of the Declaration of Independence.
