Shewa Pasture
Shighnan District ( - tg, Ноҳияи Шиғнони) is one of the 28 districts of the Badakhshan Province in eastern Afghanistan. It's part of the history region of Shighnan that is today divided between Afghanistan and Tajikistan.The district borders the Panj River and Tajikistan in the northeast, the Maimay district to the west, the Raghistan district in the southwest, the Kohistan, Arghanj Khwa, and Shuhada districts in the south, and the Ishkashim district in the southeast. Lake Shewa is located in Shighnan Valley. Demography The Khowar, Tajiks, Khoshey, and Pamiris are the major ethnic groups. Only farsi and shughnani language is spoken and understood in shughnan. Maimay District
Maimay (), also known as Darwaz-e Payin, or simply Darwaz, is a district in Badakhshan Province of Afghanistan. It was created in 2005 from part of Darwaz District. It is home to approximately 29,893 residents. Maimay borders the Kuf Ab, Raghistan, Shighnnan, and Nusay districts, along with some districts in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province, Tajikistan, including Vanj, Rushon, and Shughnon. Ishkashim District
Ishkashim District ( ps, ولسوالی اشکاشم; prs, ولسوالی اشکاشکم) is one of the 28 districts of Badakhshan Province in eastern Afghanistan. The border town of Ishkashim (also: Eshkashem, Ashkāsham; ps, اشکاشم) serves as the district's capital. The population of the district is approximately 15,951 residents, majority of whom are believed to be ethnic Tajiks followed by Pashtuns, Uzbeks and others.
