The House of Sheremetev (russian: Шереме́тевы) was one of the wealthiest and most influential noble families in Russia descending from Feodor Koshka who was of Old Prussian origin. History The family held many high commanding ranks in the Russian military, governorships and eventually the rank of Count of the Russian Empire. Feodor Koshka
Fedor Andreevich Kobylin, byname "Koshka" ("the Cat") (russian: Фёдор Андре́евич Кобылин (Ко́шка)) (died 1407), was the youngest son of Andrei Ivanovich Kobyla and progenitor of the Romanov dynasty and Sheremetev family. He was a senior boyar in the Duma of Dmitri Donskoi and his son Vasili I of Russia. According to some sources, Koshka governed Moscow during Dmitry's absence in the Battle of Kulikovo. In 1393, he was recorded as negotiating with Novgorod for peace. His cautionary approach towards the Tatars was praised by Edigu in his 1407 letter to Vasili I. It is believed that Fyodor died about that date. His daughters Anna and Akulina married a Prince of Rostov and Prince of Mikulin, while his granddaughter Maria married Yaroslav of Borovsk, father-in-law of Vasili II of Russia. Praskovia Ivanovna Kovalyova-Zhemchugova also Kovaleva or Kovalyova, Kovaleva-Zhemchugova, Zhemchugova-Sheremeteva, and Sheremeteva or Sheremetyeva (''Прасковья Ивановна Жемчугова'', ''Ковалёва'', ''Шереметева'') (July 20, 1768 – February 23, 1803) was a Russian serf actress and soprano opera singer. Romuald Szeremietiew (born 25 October 1945 in Olmonty) is a Polish politician, columnist, habilitated doctor of military sciences and associated professor at the Academy of National Defense and the War Studies Academy. He was a founding member of the Confederation of Independent Poland, an anti-communist, Sanationist independence movement. Aleksandr Dmitriyevich Sheremetev
Count Aleksandr Dmitriyevich Sheremetev ( – 18 May 1931) was a Russian composer, conductor and entrepreneur. He founded his own private symphony orchestra in 1882, and from 1898 organized public concerts in Saint Petersburg involving the orchestra and a choir he had inherited from his father, Dmitri Sheremetev. He also founded the Musical Historical Society in 1910, which gave free lecture recitals involving his orchestra and choir.
