Shenton Way
Shenton Way is a major trunk road serving Singapore's Central Area and is most commonly known for the commercial skyscrapers flanking both sides of the road. The road is a one-way street that starts at the junction of Boon Tat Street, Raffles Quay and Commerce Street before ending at Keppel Road. History In January 1948, the Singapore government announced a development scheme in the Telok Ayer reclamation area, consisting of the development of of state land and the extension of Raffles Quay from Boon Tat Street to Prince Edward Road. The construction of the Raffles Quay extension was also recommended to the government in a special committee's report in September 1948, to improve connectivity between the central area and the harbour and to allow for the development of reclaimed land between Tanjong Pagar and Finalyson Green. One Shenton Way
One Shenton Way is a high end real estate redevelopment project with 341 apartments along Shenton Way in the Tanjong Pagar area of Singapore. It consists of two towers, the tallest of which is 50 stories. It was completed in 2011 and is notable for its two tower construction. Two sides of each tower is clad in gold and two sides in blue glass panels. The first floor is retail space and includes a convenience store, a wine bar, cafes and award winning restaurants. The car park has 383 lots and is available to both residents and non residents at competitive rates. New facilities were added over the years catered to families and long term residents. Downtown MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the Downtown line, located in Downtown Core, Singapore. The station is situated underneath Central Boulevard between the junctions of Straits View and Marina View. It primarily serves the Marina Bay Financial Centre as well as Asia Square, Central Boulevard Towers and Marina One. UIC Building
The UIC Building (United Industrial Corporation Limited Building) was a former 40- storey, skyscraper in the city-state of Singapore. History The tower was completed in 1973, and it was the 39th-tallest building in Singapore, tied in rank with Chevron House, Meritus Mandarin Singapore Tower Two, and One Marina Boulevard. At the time of its 1973 completion, the UIC Building was the tallest structure in the city-state and one of the tallest buildings in Southeast Asia. It retained the former title for only one year, as the United Overseas Bank Plaza Two was completed in 1974. The building was renovated in 1986 and was given a new concrete facade in the Brutalist style of architecture. In 2007, United Industrial Corporation, under a collective sale, bought the 21.2 per cent of the UIC Building that it did not already own in order for a redevelopment. Singapore Conference Hall
The Singapore Conference Hall is a multipurpose building located in the heart of the financial district of Shenton Way in Downtown Core of Singapore. The first building to be constructed along Shenton Way, it was a place for conferences and exhibitions in the 1960s and 1970s. Today, it is refurbished and modernised into a concert hall, home to the Singapore Chinese Orchestra since 2001. OUE Downtown or 6 Shenton Way, formerly DBS Building Towers is a high-rise skyscraper complex at 6 Shenton Way in the central business district of Singapore. Tower 1, at and 50 storeys, was completed in 1975 and is one of Singapore's oldest skyscrapers. Tower 2, at and 36 storeys, was completed twenty years later in 1994. The former headquarters of DBS Bank was located in the complex. Overseas Union Enterprise (OUE) acquired the complex in 2010 and renamed it 'OUE Downtown'. SGX Centre
SGX Centre is a twin tower high-rise complex in the city of Singapore. The development consists of two skyscrapers, located in Shenton Way. The two towers are named SGX Centre One and SGX Centre Two, and are situated together on an elongated, rectangular site. The towers house the Singapore Exchange Centre. A unique feature of the development is that it borders the existing business district, and serves as a gateway to the new downtown at Marina South.
