Shenyang (, ; ; Mandarin pronunciation: ), formerly known as Fengtian () or by its Manchu language, Manchu name Mukden, is a major China, Chinese sub-provincial city and the List of capitals in China#Province capitals, provincial capital of Liaoning province. Shen Yang (Eighteen Kingdoms)
Shen Yang was the ruler of the Kingdom of Henan () of the Eighteen Kingdoms during the Chu–Han Contention, an interregnum between the Qin and Hàn dynasties of China. Shen Yang was from Xiaqiu (瑕丘; present-day Yanzhou District, Jining, Shandong). He was originally a subordinate of Zhang Er, a chancellor of the insurgent Zhao kingdom. After the fall of the Qin dynasty in 206 BC, Xiang Yu divided the former Qin Empire into the Eighteen Kingdoms. Shen Yang was appointed by Xiang Yu as the King of Henan and granted part of the former Hán kingdom's territory as his fief. Shen Yang (; born January 23, 1989 in Nanjing, Jiangsu) is a Chinese chess player who holds the titles of International master and Woman Grandmaster. Shen Yang plays for Jiangsu chess club in the China Chess League (CCL). Career In 2001, she won the U-12 Girls section of the World Youth Chess Championship in Spain. A notable game occurred in the World Team Chess Championship, held in Beersheba, Israel on October–November 2005, where Shen - then rated 2326 - managed to defeat 2652-rated Russian GM Sergei Rublevsky. Shenyang (singer)
Shenyang (; born March 20, 1984) is a Chinese bass-baritone singer. His repertoire encompasses operatic roles, chamber music and Lieder recitals. Shenyang was born in Tianjin, the son of professional musicians, but did not start singing until the age of sixteen, after his voice broke. He took inspiration from recordings of the German Lieder singer Hans Hotter. At age nineteen, he entered the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Zhou Xiaoyan at the Zhou Xiaoyan International Opera Center. At the Conservatory, in early 2007 he attended a masterclass given by soprano Renée Fleming. She arranged vocal coaching for him that spring at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and he went on to win the 2007 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition. After the win, noting confusion in the Western press over the name "Shen Yang", he decided to change its spelling to "Shenyang". Xiaoshenyang
Shen He (born 7 May 1981), better known by his stage name Xiaoshenyang (), is a Chinese actor. He was a student of Zhao Benshan and was an errenzhuan performer before joining the film and television industry. Xiaoshenyang became famous immediately in China after the 2009 CCTV New Year's Gala, where he stole the thunder from Zhao playing an effeminate restaurant waiter in a skit. He also showed off his considerable vocal prowess. He continued to attend the CCTV New Year's Gala during the following three years, and now attends New Year's Gala in Beijing TV and Liaoning TV. He changed his name to "Xiaoshenyang" to show his sincerity for his wife—the name was based on his wife's name, "Shen Chunyang".
