Sheikh Zayed City
Sheikh Zayed City ( ar, مدينة الشيخ زايد) is a city in Giza Governorate in Egypt and part of the Greater Cairo urban area. It was established in 1995 and is named after Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. 20th anniversary In 2014, during the celebration of its 20th anniversary, the Minister of Housing at the time, Mostafa Madbouly, said 'the Urban Communities Authority’s budget had been expanded for the 2014/2015 fiscal year so that all plans may be implemented and completed'. A technology center opened that day in Sheikh Zayed City but residents complained about the lack of other facilities. Geography Sheikh Zayed City is situated about from Lebanon Square in the Mohandiseen district of Giza. Smart Village () is a high-technology business district in the city of 6th of October in Giza Governorate, Egypt, established by Presidential Decree no.355 in 2000, with activities starting in 2001. It is a business district with office buildings, retail shops, entertainment, factories and green spaces. It is located on the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road, slightly west of Cairo, and occupies an area of 450 feddans. Its owned by Smart Villages Development and Management Company. Background Hosni Mubarak signed the decree and provided the land for the building of Smart Village, in order for Egypt to build its IT economy and IT industry. The desert climate or arid climate (in the Köppen climate classification ''BWh'' and ''BWk''), is a dry climate sub-type in which there is a severe excess of evaporation over precipitation. Giza Governorate ( ar, محافظة الجيزة ') is one of the governorates of Egypt. It is in the center of the country, situated on the west bank of the Nile River opposite Cairo.
