She Knew All The Answers
''She Knew All the Answers'' is a 1941 romantic comedy film made by Columbia Pictures, directed by Richard Wallace, and starring by Joan Bennett and Franchot Tone. The film tells a story about a chorus girl who wants to marry a rich playboy, but first has to prove herself to his financial advisor. The screenplay was written by Kenneth Earl, Curtis Kenyon, and Harry Segall, adapted from a short story written by Jane Allen entitled "A Girl's Best Friend Is Wall Street," published in 1938 in Cosmopolitan Magazine. Plot A chorus girl, Gloria Winters (Joan Bennett), is overjoyed that wealthy young Randy Bradford ( John Hubbard) is so eager to marry her, he's asked her to elope. Francis Sidney Compton Mackenzie , (; 4 May 1885 – 17 September 1964), known professionally as Francis Compton and also known as Frank Compton, was an English actor. He appeared in several films and television programmes but was primarily known for his stage performances. He was a member of the Compton acting family. George Hickman
George Hickman (19 January 1909 – 26 August 1978) was an English cricketer. Hickman was a right-handed batsman. He was born in Burnopfield, County Durham. Hickman made his first-class debut for Warwickshire against Derbyshire in the 1929 County Championship. He made a further first-class appearance in 1929 against Kent. These were his only major appearances for the county. He later joined Durham, who he made his debut for in the 1933 Minor Counties Championship against Northumberland. He played Minor counties cricket for Durham from 1933 to 1936, making 29 appearances. While playing for Durham, he made two first-class appearances for the Minor Counties in 1935, playing against Cambridge University and Oxford University. He died in Stranraer, Wigtownshire, Scotland on 26 August 1978. Onest Conley (December 6, 1906 – October 8, 1989) was an American film actor. Early life Born in Evanston, Illinois, his mother was the pioneering African-American film actress Madame Sul-Te-Wan (''née'' Nellie Crawford) and his father was Robert Reed Conley. He had two brothers; Odel and Otto. His father abandoned the family shortly after Conley's birth, leaving his actress mother to raise the three boys. Early years Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Beddoe was the son of Dan Beddoe, a Welsh classical singer, and his wife Mary. William Benedict (April 16, 1917 – November 25, 1999), was an American actor, perhaps best known for playing "Whitey" in Monogram Pictures' The Bowery Boys series. Early years Benedict was born in Haskell, Oklahoma, After his father's death when Billy was three years old, his mother supported him and his two sisters. He took part in school theatricals, and on leaving school he made his way to Hollywood. She graduated from Covina High School in Covina, California, and she attended Los Angeles City College. Prior to becoming a film actress, McCarty was a secretary for actress Dorothy Lamour. Lamour helped her to obtain a bit part in the film ''Chad Hanna'' (1940).
