Shawnta Rogers
Shawnta Darnell Rogers (born January 5, 1976) is an American former professional basketball player and former star at The George Washington University of the Atlantic 10 Conference. He attended Lake Clifton High School in Baltimore, Maryland, where he was born. A 5' 4" (1.63 m) point guard, Rogers was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year in 1999. He also won the Frances Pomeroy Naismith Award, for the best NCAA player under 6 feet, in 1999. He also led men's college basketball in steals that year. In 2011, Rogers was named to GW's Athletics Hall of Fame. After college Rogers was selected by the Rockford Lightning in the 6th round (#47 pick overall) of 1999 CBA Draft. Rogers began his pro career with the Baltimore Bayrunners of the IBL for the 99-00 season, then played for many successful European teams. Point Guard
The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. Point guards are expected to run the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. Above all, the point guard must understand and accept their coach's game plan; in this way, the position can be compared to a quarterback in American football. Hyères-Toulon Var Basket, also referred to as simply Hyères-Toulon or HTV, is a basketball club based in Hyères and Toulon, France. Created by the merger of Omni Sport Hyerois and Club Sportif Toulonnais, the club shares its home games between the Espace 3000 in Hyères and the Palais des Sports in Toulon. After several years in the LNB Pro A and LNB Pro B, the professional section of the club was dissolved in 2018. History Hyères-Toulon was promoted to the Pro A as the regular season champion of the 2015–16 LNB Pro B season. In the 2016–17 Pro A season, the club ended 15th in the standings which was enough to avoid relegation. In the 2017–18 season, HTV ended last in the standings with only 6 wins. The International Basketball League (IBL) was a semi-professional men's basketball league featuring teams from the West Coast of the United States. In 2010 the Albany Legends became the first team in the Northeastern United States to join. The IBL also sometimes featured teams from China and Japan which temporarily relocated to the United States for the IBL season. The IBL season typically ran from the end of March through July. Rockford Lightning
The Rockford Lightning was a basketball team that played in the Continental Basketball Association. They were based in Rockford, Illinois. History The Lightning were the oldest team in the CBA, originally existing as the Lancaster Red Roses from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. That team changed their name to the Lancaster Lightning, then the franchise moved to Baltimore for a year before relocating in Rockford. Their home arena was the MetroCentre.
