Shaun Kenny Dowall
Shaun Kenny-Dowall (born 23 January 1988) is a New Zealand international rugby league footballer who plays as a and er for Hull Kingston Rovers in the Super League. He is the current club captain. He previously played for the Sydney Roosters, winning the 2013 NRL Grand Final with them and the Newcastle Knights in the NRL. He has played for the New Zealand Māori and NRL All Stars, and played in New Zealand's 2010 Four Nations-winning side as well as the 2014 Four Nations-winning side. Early years Kenny-Dowall was born in Woodridge, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. He is of English& Māori descent specifically the Ngāti Ākarana Iwi (tribe). 2007 NRL Season
The 2007 NRL season was the one hundredth season of professional rugby league football club competition in Australia, and the tenth run by the National Rugby League. Sixteen teams contested the NRL's 2007 Telstra Premiership, and with the inclusion of a new team, the Gold Coast Titans, the competition was the largest run since the 1999 NRL season. The Melbourne Storm were the minor premiers in 2007, six points clear of second-placed Manly Warringah Sea Eagles. The Storm eventually ran out 34–8 winners in the 2007 NRL Grand Final to claim the premiership. However, they were subsequently stripped of both their minor premiership and premiership titles on 22 April 2010, after they were found to be guilty of breaching the league's salary cap. The National Rugby League (NRL) is an Australasian rugby league club competition which contains clubs from New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, the Australian Capital Territory and New Zealand. The Parramatta Eels are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in the Sydney suburb of Parramatta that competes in the National Rugby League. The Parramatta District Rugby League Football Club was formed in 1947, and their home ground was Parramatta Stadium (formerly Cumberland Oval). Newtown Jets
The Newtown Jets are an Australian rugby league football club based in Newtown, a suburb of Sydney's inner west. They currently compete in the NSW Cup competition, having left the top grade after the 1983 NSWRFL season. John Dowall
John Dowall (born 19 December 1965) is a Paralympic athlete from New Zealand competing mainly in category F44 throwing events. John has twice competed in the Paralympics, first in 1996 and then again in 2000. In 1996 he took part in the discus, javelin, long jump and shot put. In 2000 he took part in discus, pentathlon, won silver in shot put and gold medal in javelin. Personal life Dowall lost his left leg below the knee in a lawnmower accident at the age of five.
