Kazakhstan is divided into 17 regions ( kk, облыстар/''oblystar''; singular: облыс/''oblys''; russian: области/''oblasti''; singular: область/''oblast). Pavlodar Region ( kk, Павлодар облысы, translit=Pavlodar oblysy; russian: Павлодарская область, translit=Pavlodarskaya oblast) is a region of Kazakhstan. The population of the region was and ; the latest official estimate (as at the start of 2018) was 754,739. Its capital is the city of Pavlodar, which had a population of 360,014 at the start of 2018. Akkuly ( kk, Аққулы ауданы, Aqquly audany, اققۋلى اۋدانى), until 2018 Lebyazhye ( kk, Лебяжі ауданы, ) is a district of Pavlodar Region in northern Kazakhstan. The administrative center of the district is the selo of Akkuly ( kk, Аққулы, ''Aqquly''; formerly Akku, kk, Аққу, ''Aqqu'' (2018-1996); Lebyazhye (russian: Лебяжье (until 1996)). Salt Lake
A salt lake or saline lake is a landlocked body of water that has a concentration of salts (typically sodium chloride) and other dissolved minerals significantly higher than most lakes (often defined as at least three grams of salt per litre). In some cases, salt lakes have a higher concentration of salt than sea water; such lakes can also be termed hypersaline lakes, and may also be pink lakes on account of their colour. Sharbakty ( kk, Шарбақты; russian: Щербакты) is a salt lake in Akkuly District, Pavlodar Region, Kazakhstan. The lake is located about west of the Russia-Kazakhstan border. Akkuly, the district capital, lies to the WNW. Geography Sharbakty is an endorheic lake part of the Irtysh basin. It lies in a tectonic depression of the Kulunda Plain. Toleuberdy (Толеуберды), a small lake, is located from the southwestern shore. Lake Uyaly lies to the south, Malybay to the north and red lake Kyzyltuz to the NNW. River Irtysh flows to the southwest. The lake has a regular, almost round, shape. It doesn't dry out in the summer and doesn't freeze in the winter. Sharbakty village lies by the eastern lakeshore. Soda Lake
A soda lake or alkaline lake is a lake on the strongly alkaline side of neutrality, typically with a pH value between 9 and 12. They are characterized by high concentrations of carbonate salts, typically sodium carbonate (and related salt complexes), giving rise to their alkalinity. In addition, many soda lakes also contain high concentrations of sodium chloride and other dissolved salts, making them saline or hypersaline lakes as well.
