Akkuly District
Akkuly ( kk, Аққулы ауданы, Aqquly audany, اققۋلى اۋدانى), until 2018 Lebyazhye ( kk, Лебяжі ауданы, ) is a district of Pavlodar Region in northern Kazakhstan. The administrative center of the district is the selo of Akkuly ( kk, Аққулы, ''Aqquly''; formerly Akku, kk, Аққу, ''Aqqu'' (2018-1996); Lebyazhye (russian: Лебяжье (until 1996)). Population: 12444 (on January 1, 2018 estimate); On 4 August 2018 President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev adopted decree to rename Lebyazhye District to Akkuly District. Nursultan Nazarbayev
Nursultan Abishuly Nazarbayev ( kk, Нұрсұлтан Әбішұлы Назарбаев, Nūrsūltan Äbişūlı Nazarbaev, ; born 6 July 1940) is a Kazakh politician and military officer who served as the first President of Kazakhstan, in office from country’s independence in 1991 until his formal resignation in 2019, and as the Chairman of the Security Council of Kazakhstan from 1991 to 2022. He held the special title as Elbasy (meaning "Leader of the Nation", ) from 2010 to 2022. Nazarbayev was one of the longest-ruling non-royal leaders in the world, having led Kazakhstan for nearly three decades, excluding chairmanship in the Security Council after the end of his presidency. He has often been referred to as a dictator due to usurpation of power and autocratic rule. Kalatuz
Kalatuz ( kk, Қалатұз) is a salt lake in Akkuly District, Pavlodar Region, Kazakhstan. The lake lies to the NNW of Akkuly, the district capital, and about southeast of Pavlodar, the regional capital. The lake water is not suitable for watering livestock. Geography Kalatuz is part of the Irtysh basin. It lies in a tectonic depression of the Kulunda Plain close to the Irtysh, only northeast from its channel. It is located about to the SSW of lake Maraldy and to the WNW of lake Borly. The shores are mostly sloping and on the northern and southern sides there are sections with up to high cliffs. Several small rivulets flow into the lake, but there is no outflow. Malybay (lake)
Malybay ( kk, Малыбай) is an endorheic lake in Akkuly District, Pavlodar Region, Kazakhstan. Malybay lake is located close to the southern end of Malybay village and about west of the Russia-Kazakhstan border. Akkuly, the district capital, lies to the southwest. Geography Malybay is part of the Irtysh basin. It lies in a tectonic depression of the Kulunda Plain. Lake Zhaltyr lies close to its western end and red lake Kyzyltuz further to the west. Sharbakty lies to the south, Borli to the northwest, Bargana to the ENE, and Tuz to the SSE. The lake has an elongated shape, stretching from east to west for about . The eastern end and the western end are wider than the middle part. Malybay is fairly deeper than other lakes in the area and its waters have a darker hue. The shores are flat and marshy. Sharbakty (lake)
Sharbakty ( kk, Шарбақты; russian: Щербакты) is a salt lake in Akkuly District, Pavlodar Region, Kazakhstan. The lake is located about west of the Russia-Kazakhstan border. Akkuly, the district capital, lies to the WNW. Geography Sharbakty is an endorheic lake part of the Irtysh basin. It lies in a tectonic depression of the Kulunda Plain. Toleuberdy (Толеуберды), a small lake, is located from the southwestern shore. Lake Uyaly lies to the south, Malybay to the north and red lake Kyzyltuz to the NNW. River Irtysh flows to the southwest. The lake has a regular, almost round, shape. It doesn't dry out in the summer and doesn't freeze in the winter. Sharbakty village lies by the eastern lakeshore. Kyzyltuz ( kk, Қызылтұз; russian: Кызылтуз) is a salt lake in Akkuly District, Pavlodar Region, Kazakhstan. Location The lake is located to the west of Malybay village, about west of the Russia-Kazakhstan border. Akkuly, the district capital, lies to the southwest. Geography Kyzyltuz is part of the Irtysh basin. It lies in a tectonic depression of the Kulunda Plain. Lake Borli lies to the northwest, Kazy to the WNW, Zhaltyr and Malybay to the ESE, Sharbakty to the south, and Seiten to the NNW. The lake has a striking red color. This is in clear contrast with the other lakes in the area which display blue or green hues.
