Shanti Theatre
Shanti Theatre was an Indian movie theatre located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Built by G. Umapathy and D. Shanmuga Raja, and inaugurated in January 1961, it was bought by actor Sivaji Ganesan, and was owned by his family since. In May 2016, Shanti ceased screening films, and was re-invented by its owners as a multiplex. History Shanti Theatre was built by G. Umapathy and D. Shanmuga Raja, then the Raja of Sivaganga. It was inaugurated on 12 January 1961 by then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, K. Kamaraj, and was the first deluxe Air conditioning, AC theatre of Madras (now Chennai) with a 1212-seats capacity. The inaugural show was ''Srinivasa Kalyanam'', and the first film to be released there officially was ''Velugu Needalu, Thooya Ullam'', followed by the Hindi film, ''Kalpana (1960 film), Kalpana''. ''24'' is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language science fiction action drama film written and directed by Vikram Kumar. Based on the concept of time travel, the film stars actor Suriya in a triple role alongside Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Nithya Menen. The film's development dates back to 2009, at which time it was to star Vikram and Ileana D'Cruz. However, in February 2010, the project was dropped due to the difference in opinions between the director, producer, and actor, facing rejection of the refined script. ''Chandramukhi'' () is a 2005 Indian Tamil-language comedy horror film written and directed by P. Vasu. A remake of Vasu's Kannada film ''Apthamitra'' (2004), which itself loosely based on the Malayalam film ''Manichitrathazhu'' (1993), the film stars Rajinikanth, Prabhu, Jyothika, Nayanthara and Vadivelu with an ensemble supporting cast.
