Shanivarasanthe/Sanivarasanthe is a small town in Kodagu district in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is one of the towns of ''Somwarpet taluk'', in the north-east of the district. The main crops grown in the area are coffee, paddy, and spices. Kannada, Kodava Takk, Tulu, Beary bashe, Hindi, and English are spoken by the people. Flora and fauna Coffee and paddy are the major crop in the region. Other crops, like pepper, cardamom, ginger, and other vegetables are also grown. Also, it is famous for growing silver oak tree. Religion and Caste Hindus, Muslims along with some Christians are present in this town, while the main castes are Billavas, Shettys, Vokkaligas, Lingayats, and Kodavas among the Hindus. ' Field Marshal (India), Field Marshal Kodandera Madappa Cariappa (28 January 1899 – 15 May 1993) was the first Indian Chief of the Army Staff (India), Commander-in-Chief (C-in-C) of the Indian Army. Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary
Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the 21 Wildlife Sanctuaries in Karnataka, India. This sanctuary is located in Somwarpet taluk of the Kodagu district. It is home to rare and endangered birdlife. The Kadamakkal reserve forest is a part of the sanctuary. Pushpagiri (Kumara Parvatha) is the highest peak in it. Bisle Reserve Forest is a reserve forest in westernmost Hassan district of Karnataka state, India. It is located in Hassan district's Sakleshpur taluk. Bisle village adjoins the forest to the east. It is contiguous with Kagneri Reserve Forest to the north, Bhagimalai Reserve Forest of Dakshina Kannada district to the west, and Kukke Subramanya forest range to the southwest.
