Shane Conway
Shane Conway (born 26 October 1998) is an Irish hurler who plays for Kerry Senior Championship club Lixnaw and at inter-county level with the Kerry senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a forward. Career A member of the Lixnaw club, Conway first came to prominence at underage levels by winning minor and under-21 championship titles. He progressed onto the club's senior team and won a County Championship title in 2018. Conway subsequently lined out with University College Cork, winning consecutive Fitzgibbon Cup titles in 2019 and 2020. He first came to prominence on the inter-county scene as a member of the Kerry minor and under-21 teams that won All-Ireland titles in the respective second tier championships. He made his debut with the Kerry senior hurling team in 2018. Lixnaw GAA
Lixnaw Hurling Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in the north of County Kerry, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. They primarily play in competitions organised by the Kerry County Board of the GAA, such as the Kerry Senior Hurling Championship, and also in competitions organised by the North Kerry Hurling Board. The club is principally concerned with the game of hurling but many of their players also play gaelic football, many with Finuge GAA, Finuge. All-Ireland Under-21 B Hurling Championship
The GAA Hurling All-Ireland Under-20 (previously Under-21) B Championship, the second tier competition in hurling is an annual series of games for male players under the age of 20 and is organized by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). The 2019 competition was the first at the Under 20 age level. The final is currently played in April or May and the winning county receive the Richie McElligott Cup, which is named in honour of the late great Kerry stalwart Richie McElligott of the Lixnaw club and was first presented in 2015. The championship is played on a straight knockout basis whereby once a team loses they are eliminated. The 2019 Fitzgibbon Cup was the 103rd staging of the Fitzgibbon Cup since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1912. National Hurling League
The National Hurling League is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into six divisions, with either five or six teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league.
