Shane Bennett (hurler)
Shane Bennett (born 5 December 1996) is an Irish hurler who plays as a centre-forward for the Waterford senior team. Born in Ballysaggart, County Waterford, Bennett first played competitive hurling during his schooling at Blackwater Community School. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of fifteen when he first linked up with the Waterford minor team before later joining the under-21 side. Bennett played wing back in 2013 as Waterford won the All Ireland minor title for the first time since 1948. Three years later, he was part of the same team that captured the county's second All Ireland U-21 title, again beating Galway He made his senior debut during the 2015 league. Bennett has since become a regular member of the starting fifteen. At club level Bennett is a one-time Munster medallist in the junior grade with Ballysaggart. Ballysaggart GAA
Ballysaggart GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Ballysaggart, County Waterford, Ireland. The club enters teams in hurling each year, which includes 2 adult hurling teams in the Waterford Senior Hurling Championship and the Western Junior Hurling “C” Championship, and had briefly returned to participating in Gaelic football entering a team in the West Waterford Junior Football Championship in 2015, after a lapse of ten years. Ballysaggart has no underage teams. Instead the club is amalgamated with Lismore GAA for underage teams and play as Naomh Carthach. Ballysaggart won the first competition organised by the GAA, the 1885 Waterford Senior Football Championship. Kieran Bennett (born 21 November 1994) is an Irish hurler who plays for the Waterford senior team. Bennett made his championship debut for Waterford on 13 August 2017 in the 2017 All-Ireland semi-final win against Cork. His younger brothers, Stephen and Shane Bennett also play with Waterford. Munster Under-21 Hurling Championship
The Munster GAA Hurling Under-20 Championship, known simply as the Munster Under-20 Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county hurling competition for male players between the ages of 17 and 20 in the province of Munster. The championship was contested as the Munster Under-21 Championship between 1964 and 2018 before changing to an under-20 age category from 2019. It is sponsored by Bord Gáis Energy. The 2013 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship (also known as the Electric Ireland GAA Hurling All-Ireland Minor Championship for sponsorship reasons) was the 83rd staging of the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1928. The championship began on 11 April 2013 and ended on 8 September 2013. Tipperary entered the championship as the defending champions; however, they were beaten by Limerick in the Munster semi-final. Stephen Bennett (born 8 October 1995) is an Irish hurling, hurler who plays for Waterford Intermediate Hurling Championship, Waterford Intermediate Championship club Ballysaggart GAA, Ballysaggart and at inter-county level with the Waterford senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a full-forward. Playing career Blackwater Community School Bennett first came to prominence as a hurler with Blackwater Community School in Lismore, County Waterford, Lismore. He played in every grade of hurling and enjoyed some success. The Munster Junior Club Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Munster GAA Hurling Junior Club Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the five champion junior clubs and one champion intermediate club in the province of Munster in Ireland.
