Shandon Anderson
Shandon Rodriguez Anderson (born December 31, 1973) is an American former professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1996 to 2006. Growing up in Atlanta, Anderson attended the University of Georgia and played for four teams during his ten-year NBA career after being drafted by the Utah Jazz in 1996: the Jazz, Houston Rockets, New York Knicks, and Miami Heat. He played the shooting guard and small forward positions. Anderson attended Alonzo A. Crim High School in Atlanta, then played basketball at the University of Georgia. Willie Anderson (basketball)
Willie Lloyd Anderson Jr. (born January 8, 1966) is an American former professional basketball player. After attending the University of Georgia, he was selected by the San Antonio Spurs with the 10th pick of the 1988 NBA draft. He played for the Spurs until the 1994–95 season when he was selected in the 1995 expansion draft by the Toronto Raptors. He also played for the New York Knicks and the Miami Heat for the next two seasons. Anderson then moved to Greece to play for Olympiacos and later for AEK Athens which he led to the Euroleague 1998 final. The next season, he signed for Maccabi Tel Aviv from Israel, but was waived at the beginning of the season. After signing, he declared that this would be his last season in professional basketball, and after being waived he did retire. The 1996 NBA draft was the 50th draft in the National Basketball Association (NBA). It was held on June 26, 1996 at Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey. In this draft, NBA teams took turns selecting college basketball players and other first-time eligible players, such as players from high schools and non-North American leagues. The Vancouver Grizzlies had the highest probability to win the NBA draft lottery, but since they were an expansion team along with the Toronto Raptors, they were not allowed to select first in this draft.
