Shamit Shome
Shamit Shome (born September 5, 1997) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Cavalry FC. Early life Shome, a Bengali, was born in Edmonton to Bangladeshi parents. He played youth soccer with Edmonton Southwest United SC from 2003 until 2014. While playing for the Impact, Shome studied electrical engineering at Concordia University. Club career FC Edmonton Shome joined FC Edmonton's academy program in 2015. In the fall of that year he enrolled at the University of Alberta and had a standout year with the Alberta Golden Bears scoring six goals in twelve appearances. This earned him the CWUAA Rookie of the Year Award. On February 12, 2016, Shome signed his first professional contract with FC Edmonton. FC Edmonton
FC Edmonton was a Canadian professional soccer club based in Edmonton, Alberta. The club was founded in 2010 and competed in the North American Soccer League (NASL) from 2011 to 2017. The Canadian Premier League (CPL or CanPL; french: Première ligue canadienne, links=no) is a professional men's Association football, soccer league in Canada. At the top of the Canadian soccer league system, it is the country's primary national soccer league competition. The league consists of eight teams, from five of provinces and territories of Canada, Canada's ten provinces. Each team plays 28 games in the regular season which is followed by playoffs culminating in the Canadian Premier League Finals, CPL Finals. Patrice Bernier (born September 23, 1979) is a Canadian retired professional soccer player. A long-time mainstay of the Canada national team, the midfielder played the majority of his career with Montreal Impact in addition to playing in Denmark, Germany, and Norway. Club career In 1998-99, Bernier played college soccer for Syracuse University in the United States. At Syracuse, Bernier played 38 matches and recorded 34 points with 12 goals and 10 assists. The 2017 MLS SuperDraft was the eighteenth SuperDraft conducted by Major League Soccer. The SuperDraft is held each year in conjunction with the annual National Soccer Coaches Association of America convention. The first two rounds of the 2017 SuperDraft were held in Los Angeles, California on January 13, 2017 as part of the NSCAA 2017 convention. Generation Adidas
Generation Adidas is a joint venture between Major League Soccer and U.S. Soccer aimed at raising the level of young professional soccer talent in the United States. The program, sponsored by Adidas, offers professional-ready players in the U.S. developmental system not yet eligible for the MLS SuperDraft early entry, allowing MLS to compete with foreign professional clubs without comparable restrictions on player signing.
