Shally Awasthi
Shally Awasthi is an Indian professor and paediatric pulmonologist. She works at King George's Medical University, Lucknow, UP India. Awasthi was the first Indian scientist to be appointed to the Health-Security Interface Technical Advisory Group (HSI-TAG) of the World Health Organization (WHO). HSI-TAG comprises a group of experts formed to advise the WHO on worldwide issues concerning global health and security. Honors and Awards Awasthi is an elected fellow of all major Indian science academies namely the National Academy of Science, Indian Academy of Sciences, The National Academy of Medical Science, Indian National Science Academy 2020 and Indian Academy of Pediatrics. She was an Honorary Fellow of Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health for 2018. Indian Academy Of Sciences
The Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore was founded by Indian Physicist and Nobel Laureate C. V. Raman, and was registered as a society on 24 April 1934. Inaugurated on 31 July 1934, it began with 65 founding fellows. The first general meeting of Fellows, held on the same day, elected Raman as president, and adopted the constitution of the Academy. King George's Medical University is a medical school, hospital, and medical university located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. The medical school was raised to a medical university by an act passed by the government of Uttar Pradesh on 16 September 2002. The university has about 1250 undergraduate students (including 280 dental students) and 450 postgraduate students. About 250 students a year are admitted to the four-and-a-half-year course of study for the degree of M.B.B.S. History King George V, then the Prince of Wales, laid the foundation stone of King George's Medical College in 1906.
