Shaken Not Stirred (Phil Vassar Album)
''Shaken Not Stirred'' is the third studio album by American country music singer Phil Vassar. Released in 2004 on Arista Nashville, the album produced Vassar's second Number One single on the '' Billboard'' Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) charts in the track "In a Real Love". The second single, "I'll Take That as a Yes (The Hot Tub Song)", reached number 17 on the country charts, while the third single ("Good Ole Days") peaked at number 22. Vassar produced the entire album, working with Frank Rogers on tracks 1, 2, 4, 7, and 10, and Nick Brophy on the rest. Phil Vassar
Phillip George Vassar Jr. (born May 28, 1962) is an American country music artist. Vassar made his debut on the country music scene in the late 1990s, co-writing singles for several country artists, including Tim McGraw ("For a Little While", " My Next Thirty Years"), Jo Dee Messina (" Bye, Bye", " I'm Alright"), Collin Raye ("Little Red Rodeo"), and Alan Jackson ("Right on the Money"). In 1999, he was named by American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) as Country Songwriter of the Year. Later that same year, Vassar was signed to Arista Nashville as a recording artist. Vincent Edward "Vince" Melamed is an American keyboardist and songwriter who resides in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born in New York, and moved to Los Angeles at an early age. Melamed has appeared with many bands as a keyboardist (Bob Dylan, J.D. Souther, Eagles, Jimmy Buffett, Dan Fogelberg, Glenn Frey) and has co-written songs for other artists, including "Walkaway Joe" by Trisha Yearwood, " What Mattered Most" by Ty Herndon, "Tell Me What You Dream" by Restless Heart, " I'll Take That as a Yes (The Hot Tub Song)" by Phil Vassar, "The Shake" by Neal McCoy, and " She'd Give Anything" by Boy Howdy. Slide guitar is a technique for playing the guitar that is often used in blues music. It involves playing a guitar while holding a hard object (a slide) against the strings, creating the opportunity for glissando effects and deep vibratos that reflect characteristics of the human singing voice. A steel guitar ( haw, kīkākila) is any guitar played while moving a steel bar or similar hard object against plucked strings. The bar itself is called a "steel" and is the source of the name "steel guitar". The instrument differs from a conventional guitar in that it is played without using frets; conceptually, it is somewhat akin to playing a guitar with one finger (the bar). Known for its portamento capabilities, gliding smoothly over every pitch between notes, the instrument can produce a sinuous crying sound and deep vibrato emulating the human singing voice. Steven Jay Nathan is an American keyboardist. He is known for his session work in Muscle Shoals and Nashville studios. Biography Nathan was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. In 1977, Nathan moved to Muscle Shoals, Alabama. After touring with LeBlanc and Carr, he participated in the recording of Lenny LeBlanc’s first solo record. For the next 14 years, Steve played on records produced by Rick Hall at FAME Studios, often teaming with Roger Hawkins on drums and David Hood on bass. The Wurlitzer electronic piano is an electric piano manufactured and marketed by Wurlitzer from the mid-1950s to mid-1980s. Clavinet
The Clavinet is an electrically amplified clavichord invented by Ernst Zacharias and manufactured by the Hohner company of Trossingen, West Germany, from 1964 to 1982. The instrument produces sounds by a rubber pad striking a point on a tensioned string, and was designed to resemble the Renaissance-era clavichord.
