Shah Asad
Shah Asad Sindhi_language.html" ;"title="Sindhi language">Sindhi: شاھ اسد), 15 August 1947 - 29 November 2005was a Pakistani film producer, director, actor and poet of Sindhi language. He directed and produced a number of Sindhi language films and also acted in some films. Biography Shah Asad was born on 15th August 1947 at Tando Adam Khan, Tando Adam, District Sangher, Sindh, Pakistan. He completed matriculation examination at Shah Latif High School Tando Adam. His father, Syed Quduratullah Shah, was a spiritual leader and had many followers. Shah Asad had a close relationship with his maternal uncle, Moosa Kaleem, who was a poet and lyricist. He found great inspiration in his uncle's poetry and developed an interest in acting from a young age.. Tando Adam
Tando Adam ( ur, ; sd, ٽنڊو آدم) is a city in Sindh, Pakistan. It was formerly under Nawab Shah district (now known as Shaheed Benazir Abad District) until 1955 and later became part of Sanghar District. It is the 57th largest city in Pakistan, Tando Adam was founded by Mir Adam Khan Mari, which is called "cantonment" for "Tando" in Balochi. Tando Adam is known for its industries and its agriculture; crops raised nearby include sugar-cane, wheat, cotton, bananas, and mangoes. Sindhi People
Sindhis ( sd, سنڌي Perso-Arabic: सिन्धी Devanagari; ) are an Indo-Aryan ethnic group who speak the Sindhi language and are native to the province of Sindh in Pakistan. After the partition of British Indian empire in 1947, many Sindhi Hindus and Sindhi Sikhs migrated to the newly independent Dominion of India and other parts of the world. Pakistani Sindhis are predominantly Muslim with a smaller Sikh and Hindu minority, whereas Indian Sindhis are predominantly Hindu with a Sikh, Jain and Muslim minority. Sindhi people have been native to Sindh throughout history, apart from that their historical region has always came from the South-eastern side of Balochistan, the Bahawalpur region of Punjab and the Kutch region of Gujarat, India. Jalal Chandio
Jalal Chandio ( sd, جلال چانڊيو) was a Sindhi folk singer. He was born in 1944 in the village of Harpal Jo Hat, Misri Wah, near Phul Naushahro Feroze District. He was the only expert of yaktara & Chapri at the time, and his singing style made him popular among Sindh and all of Pakistan. He died on 10 January 2001 due to kidney failure. He got lot of respect in all over Sindh as folk singer due to distinct style of playing folk music and singing. Ustad Muhammad Yousuf
Muhammad Yousuf ( Sindhi: استاد محمد يوسف) (January 20, 1940 – February 14, 1997) was a folk and playback singer of Pakistan. Childhood Muhammad Yousuf was born in Muhalla Din Ali Shah, Tiyoon Number Talau, Tando Tayeb Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan. His father Laung Faqir Maganhar was a Dholak Nawaz (drum beater) and Sharnai (or Shahnai) player. His father used to play Dholak at Radio Pakistan Hyderabad. Yousuf attended Baar Sudhar School and Haji Seth Kamaluddin School Hyderabad. However, he was not interested in formal education and left school after passing five classes. Humaira Channa, also known as Humera Channa (born on 22 Jun 1970 at Lahore), is a 6 Nigar Award winning film playback singer from Pakistan. She has won 3rd most Nigar Awards in history, ranked only after Noor Jehan and Mehnaz. Early life and career Humaira Channa entered the Pakistani entertainment industry influenced by her father who was already a filmmaker. She first sang for her father's film at the age of nine. Sindhi cinema ( sd, سنڌي سينيما) refers to the Sindhi language film industry in Sindh, Pakistan and among the Sindhi diaspora. History The first Sindhi film produced was ''Ekta'' in 1940 directed by Homi Wadia and the last film was Himmath which was released on 1997; while the first Sindhi film produced in Pakistan was ''Umar Marvi'' in 1956 directed by Shaikh Hassan. The first blockbuster Sindhi film released was ''Abana'' released in 1958. Sindhi cinema used to see three to four releases a year until the 1990s. The last Sindhi film released was Himmat in 1997. Sanghar District ( sd, ضلعو سانگھڙ, ur, ) is one of the largest districts of Sindh province, Pakistan. This district lies between 25058'13 N latitudes and 69024'4E longitudes.
