Shad Meier
Shadley Benjamin Meier (born June 7, 1978) is a former professional American football tight end. High School and College Career Shad Meier prepped at Pittsburg High School, in his home town, where he was an All-State Top 11 Selection in Kansas in the fall of 1995 under legendary coach Larry Garman. He went on to enjoy a five-year playing career for the Kansas State Wildcats, where he was a two-year starter at tight end for Bill Snyder. He is one of the four Meier brothers to play college football. His younger brother Dylan (now deceased) also played for the Wildcats. The youngest brother Kerry played for the University of Kansas. NFL career Shad Meier was drafted as the 90th overall pick of the 2001 NFL Draft for Tennessee Titans. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic. Dylan Meier
Dylan Meier (March 16, 1984 – April 19, 2010) was an American football quarterback. Meier played collegiality at Kansas State and professionally for the Dresden Monarchs of the German Football League and Rhinos Milano of the Italian Football League. Meier was the younger brother of former NFL tight end Shad Meier and older brother of Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Kerry Meier. Franklin is a city in and county seat of Williamson County, Tennessee, United States. Pittsburg is a city in Crawford County, Kansas, United States, located in southeast Kansas near the Missouri state border. It is the most populous city in Crawford County and southeast Kansas. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 20,646. It is home of Pittsburg State University. History On October 23, 1864, a wagon train of refugees had come from Fort Smith, Arkansas, and was escorted by troops from the 6th Kansas Cavalry under the command of Col. William Campbell. The 2001 NFL Draft was the 66th annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible professional football players. The draft, which is officially referred to as the "NFL Player Selection Meeting," was held at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York on April 21–22, 2001. Each team is assigned one pick per round with the order based generally on the reverse order of finish in the previous season with the team with the worst record receiving the first draft slot.
