Severínia is a municipality in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The city has a population of 17,661 inhabitants and an area of 140.4 km2. Severínia belongs to the Mesoregion of São José do Rio Preto. Media In telecommunications, the city was served by Companhia Telefônica Brasileira until 1973, when it began to be served by Telecomunicações de São Paulo. In July 1998, this company was acquired by Telefónica, which adopted the Vivo brand in 2012. Vivo (Portuguese for 'Live', as in Live Broadcasting, or 'Alive') is a brand of Telefônica Brasil, a subsidiary of Telefónica and the largest telecommunications company in Brazil. The Christian Congregation in Brazil ( pt, Congregação Cristã no Brasil) was founded in Brazil by the Italian-American missionary Luigi Francescon (1866–1964), as part of the larger Christian Congregation movement.
