Severina De Orosa
Severina Luna de Orosa (born 11 February 1890 – died 23 May 1984) was a Filipino physician and Hispanist writer. She was one of the earliest female Filipina doctors in the country. She was awarded the Premio Zobel literary prize in 1982, 23 years after her husband Sixto Y. Orosa won the same award. Two of her five children were choreographer Leonor Orosa-Goquingco and writer Rosalinda Orosa. Early life and education Severina was born in Batangas in the Spanish Philippines on 11 February 1890, the daughter of Batangas municipality councilman Remigio Luna and Rafaela Dinglasan. In 1914, she graduated as valedictorian from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine (UP) in Manila, becoming one of the first female physicians in the Philippines. Batangas

José Rizal
José Protasio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda (, ; June 19, 1861 – December 30, 1896) was a Filipino nationalist, writer and polymath active at the end of the Spanish colonial period of the Philippines. He is considered the national hero (''pambansang bayani'') of the Philippines. An ophthalmologist by profession, Rizal became a writer and a key member of the Filipino Propaganda Movement, which advocated political reforms for the colony under Spain. He was executed by the Spanish colonial government for the crime of rebellion after the Philippine Revolution broke out; it was inspired by his writings.
