Seven Thorns
Seven Thorns is a Danish power metal band formed in 1998. The group have undergone multiple changes in line-up leading up to the release of their debut album, ''Return to the Past'' in 2010. Despite being somewhat latecomers to the power metal scene, Seven Thorns' sound draws heavily on the "old school of power metal" citing influences by bands such as Gamma Ray (band), Gamma Ray, Helloween and Stratovarius. History Seven Thorns was founded in 1998 by drummer Lars Borup. However, the search for other permanent band members was unsuccessful, so Seven Thorns was put on hold in 2000. In 2004 Mik Holm joined Lars as songwriter and lead singer which led to the first complete line-up later that same year. The band's first single ''Artificial Night'' was recorded and released in the beginning of 2005 and was nominated for a Danish Metal Award. From 2005 to 2007 Seven Thorns was on hiatus with the exit of Mik and the addition of a new lead singer. The band name was changed to ''7thorns' ... II (Seven Thorns Album)
''II'' is the second album recorded by Seven Thorns. It was released on 19 January 2013 independently, and was later re-released on 1 February 2014 by the record label Sonic Revolution. Despite being the band's lead singer, Gustav Blide performed only backing vocals for the album as he was not yet ready to cover the lead singing duties at the time. Lead vocals are performed by Erik Blomkvist like on the band's previous album. The chorus melody of the song ''Justice'' is based on a Danish church psalm with music composed by C. Chr. Lillian Axe
Lillian Axe is an American hard rock band from New Orleans, Louisiana, best known for its major label albums, ''Lillian Axe'', ''Love + War'', ''Poetic Justice'' and ''Psychoschizophrenia''. Originally formed in 1983, the group is still active, though only the guitarist Steve Blaze and bassist Michael Max Darby remain from the original lineup. History The band's origins are based in the New Orleans based band Oz which guitarist Steve Blaze joined in the early 1980s, which included Rick Bohrer on vocals, Orlando "Ace" Palacio on guitar, Michael "Maxx" Darby on bass guitar, and Jeff Savelle on drums. When Palacio quit, the band told Blaze that he was the new lead guitarist. Gun Barrel is a German heavy metal band formed in 1998 in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia. Gun Barrel was founded by Guido Feldhausen and Rolf Tanzius and released their first EP ''Back To Suicide'' (2000) with the line-up consisting of Guido Feldhausen ( vocals), Rolf Tanzius ( guitar), Holger Schulz (bass) and Florens Neuheuser (drums). They play traditional/old school heavy metal and they personally call their musical style "Power dive rock 'n' metal". Jørn Marumsrud Lande (born May 31, 1968) is a Norwegian hard rock and heavy metal singer and songwriter. He is known for his work with the bands Ark, Beyond Twilight, Millenium, Vagabond, The Snakes, and most notably with power metal band Masterplan. He is also the most recurrent guest singer of the international supergroup Avantasia, and has worked as lead and guest singer in several projects. Currently, he is focusing his activities on his solo project Jorn. Circle II Circle is an American heavy metal band from Tampa, Florida. The band was formed by former Savatage lead vocalist Zachary Stevens and longtime friend and band manager Dan Campbell in 2001. They play varied genres of metal including traditional heavy metal, power metal and progressive metal.
