Sergio Cofferati
Sergio Cofferati (born 30 January 1948) is an Italian trade unionist and politician. Secretary general of CGIL from 1994 to 2002, Mayor of Bologna for the Democrats of the Left from 2004 to 2009 and Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from 2009 to 2019, elected as a candidate of the Democratic Party. Early life and career Cofferati was born at Sesto ed Uniti, in the province of Cremona. Initially an employee of Milan's Pirelli and a member of CGIL, Cofferati rose up in the major Italian trade union, becoming leader of Filcea (the chemical labour wing of CGIL) in 1988, and Secretary General of the CGIL itself in 1990, succeeding Bruno Trentin. Paderno Ponchielli
Paderno Ponchielli ( Soresinese: ; Cremunés: ) is a ''comune'' in the province of Cremona, in Lombardy, northern Italy. Before the unification of Italy in 1861, the town was known just as Paderno. After unification, the new government called on various municipalities with the same name to adjust and differentiate them. “Fasolaro” got added to the name Paderno. However, this did not meet with universal public approval as the word alluded to the production of common cowpeas (black-eyed peas) widespread in the area, which was considered as a possible source of mockery in neighboring communities. In 1878, Umberto I, King of Italy, changed the name from Paderno Fasolaro to Paderno Cremonese. In 1928, when Paderno merged with the neighboring Ossolaro, the area took the name Paderno Ossolaro.
