Sergej Ignatov
Sergei Ignatov (in Russian Сергей Игнатов) (born 1950 in Chemnitz, Germany) is a Russian juggler, known as "The Poet of Juggling", notable for his numbers juggling. At his prime during the 1970–90 period, Sergei Ignatov worked with up to 7 large balls in his performance, and 9 in practice. He frequently performed 11 rings in his act, and juggled them for 22 catches in his practice. Also in his show was 5 clubs. Ignatov is notable for his five club backcrosses, where he would throw the clubs crossing behind his back and over his shoulder while walking in a circle. Juggling practice has developed a wide range of patterns and forms which involve different types of manipulation, different props, numbers of props, and numbers of jugglers. Backcrossing
Backcrossing is a crossing of a hybrid with one of its parents or an individual genetically similar to its parent, to achieve offspring with a genetic identity closer to that of the parent. Burt Blague (born Sergey Ignatov (russian: Сергéй Леони́дович Игнáтов); born September 7, 1975) is a 4th generation artist, circus performer, comedian, director, teacher and producer. Burt was born in a circus family, the dynasty of circus artists – the Ignatovs whose history began in the beginning of the 20th century. The great-grandfather, Ivan Petrovich Ignatov (1900-1975), was a groom and a riding master at the circus. He was an assistant trainer for the Nikitins, Efim Efimov, Gleb Lapiado, Vladimir Teplov. The grandfather, Mikhail Ivanovich Ignatov (1922-1967), was a circus artist. Before the World War II he had been a dzhigit in Kshi's group.
