Serbia In The Eurovision Song Contest 2011
Serbia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song "Čaroban" written by Kristina Kovač. The song was performed by Nina. The Serbian national broadcaster, Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) organised the national final ''Pesma za Evropu - Diseldorf 2011'' in order to select the Serbian entry for the 2011 contest in Düsseldorf, Germany. Kornelije Kovač and his two daughters Aleksandra Kovač and Kristina Kovač were selected to each compose a song for the national final on 26 February 2011, which resulted in "Čaroban" performed by Nina as the winner entirely by a public televote. Serbia was drawn to compete in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 10 May 2011. Performing during the show in position 6, "Čaroban" was announced among the top 10 entries of the first semi-final and therefore qualified to compete in the final on 14 May. Nina Radojičić
Danica Prodanović ( sr-Cyrl, Даница Продановић, , née ''Radojičić'' / Радојичић; born 5 August 1989), is a Serbian Doctor of Pharmacy, researcher and part-time singer, known by her nickname Nina (Нина ). She represented Serbia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song "Čaroban", composed by Kristina Kovač, and placed fourteenth in the final. Goran Bregović (born 22 March 1950) is a recording artist from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Adolf "Dado" Topić (born 4 September 1950, Siverić at Drniš) is a rock musician from Croatia and the former Yugoslavia. He was the lead singer and founder of Time, a 1970s progressive rock band. Boris Novković (born 25 December 1967) is a Croatian singer-songwriter. He has been active since the 1980s. Biography Novković was born in Sarajevo, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina, SFR Yugoslavia. His interest in a musical career was cultivated by his family background, with mother Ozana who taught music, and father Đorđe who was a leading Croatian songwriter and music manager. He released his first album, ''Kuda idu izgubljene djevojke'' in 1986, selling 120,000 copies, while his follow-up release in 1987, ''Jači od sudbine'', sold 160,000 copies and remained his highest-selling album to date.
