Sequel To The Prequel
''Sequel to the Prequel'' is the third studio album by English band Babyshambles. It was released on 3 September 2013 under EMI Records. It is their first release of new material since 2007's '' Shotter's Nation''. Background Originally planned to be Pete Doherty's second solo record, the album soon became a Babyshambles record, with all tracks being co-written by guitarist Mick Whitnall or bassist Drew McConnell, a first for the band. Recording began in January 2013 and included contributions from Stereophonics drummer Jaime Morrison, as the band's previous drummer, Danny Goffey had left in 2012. Babyshambles were an English rock music, rock band established in London. The band was formed by Pete Doherty (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) during a hiatus from the Libertines. The Velvet Underground
The Velvet Underground was an American rock band formed in New York City in 1964. The original line-up consisted of singer/guitarist Lou Reed, multi-instrumentalist John Cale, guitarist Sterling Morrison, and drummer Angus MacLise. MacLise was replaced by Moe Tucker in 1965, who played on most of the band's recordings. Their integration of rock and the avant-garde achieved little commercial success during the group's existence, but they are now recognized as one of the most influential bands in rock, underground, experimental, and alternative music. The group's provocative subject matter, musical experiments, and often nihilistic attitudes also proved influential in the development of punk rock and new wave music. ''Grace/Wastelands'' is the debut solo album from Babyshambles frontman/The Libertines co-frontman Peter Doherty. It was released in Australia on 13 March 2009, in the UK on 16 March, and in the US on 24 March, with the single "Last of the English Roses" preceding it by one week. The album features contributions from Blur guitarist Graham Coxon (who plays guitar on all the songs on the album apart from "Broken Love Song") Dot Allison, Peter Wolfe (aka Wolfman), and members of Babyshambles. Danny Goffey
Daniel Robert Goffey (born 7 February 1974) is an English musician and singer-songwriter. He is best known as the drummer and backing vocalist for Supergrass. He briefly toured with Babyshambles in 2010, following their drummer's departure. Career 1990–1993: The Jennifers Goffey was born on 7 February 1974 in Eton, Berkshire, and started his music career as a child when he formed his first band, The Jubbly Spufflewubs, which consisted of his brother on guitar and friend David Mackay. He had no drums so had to accompany the others by hitting chopsticks on lunch boxes. At age 10 he received a high hat and snare from his parents, prompting him to start his other band, The Fallopian Tubes. Stereophonics
Stereophonics are a Welsh rock band formed in 1992 in the village of Cwmaman in the Cynon Valley, Wales. The band consists of Kelly Jones (lead vocals, lead guitar, keyboards), Richard Jones (bass guitar, harmonica, backing vocals), Adam Zindani (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Jamie Morrison (drums, percussion) and touring member Tony Kirkham (keyboards). Drew McConnell
Drew McConnell (born 10 November 1978 in Dublin, Ireland) is the bass guitarist and backing vocalist with Babyshambles, the band formed and fronted by frontman of the Libertines, Pete Doherty, and for former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher's band. He lived in Tenerife, Spain, for much of his childhood and he speaks Spanish fluently. Formerly in the band Elviss, McConnell participates in a number of side-projects, such as the Phoenix Drive and playing double bass and piano with Irish singer/songwriter Fionn Regan as well as writing and recording solo material. McConnell organises a musical collective named Helsinki, with which he performs solo material as well as versions of songs by Babyshambles, such as a swing version of their single " Delivery". Mick Whitnall
Mick Whitnall (born 7 November 1968, Doncaster, Yorkshire) is the English lead guitarist for Pete Doherty's rock band Babyshambles, replacing former guitarist Patrick Walden. He lived in South Africa for a time when he was a young boy while his father was working there. Before this, Whitnall played with Kill City fronted by Peter Doherty's ex-girlfriend Lisa Moorish, and also in bands including Finley Quaye's band and ska Ska (; ) is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1950s and was the precursor to rocksteady and reggae. Peter Doherty (born 12 March 1979) is an English musician, songwriter, actor, poet, writer, and artist. He is best known for being co-frontman of The Libertines, which he formed with Carl Barât in 1997. His other musical projects are indie band Babyshambles and Peter Doherty and the Puta Madres. Shotter's Nation
''Shotter's Nation'' is the second album by English rock band Babyshambles and was released in the United Kingdom on 1 October 2007 by Parlophone to generally favourable reviews. In the United States the album was released on 23 October 2007 by Astralwerks. The first single from the album, " Delivery", was released on 17 September 2007. The album was produced by Stephen Street and recorded at Olympic Studios in London, England. The acoustic closer, "The Lost Art of Murder", features a guest appearance from Bert Jansch. It is the first Pete Doherty album without Mick Jones producing and his first released by a major label. In an interview with ''NME'' magazine, Pete Doherty said that The Strokes (and solo) guitar player Albert Hammond, Jr., plays guitar on the album.
