''Seoige'' is an Irish television chat show. The show, hosted by sisters Gráinne and Síle Seoige, was broadcast live on weekdays at 16:30 on RTÉ One, with a hiatus in the summer months. Episodes were repeated at 08:20 the following weekday morning on the same channel. The programme was originally launched in 2006 as '' Seoige and O'Shea'' with Gráinne Seoige and Joe O'Shea at the helm. It followed a similar format to ITV's '' This Morning'' programme. Moving between serious issues and lighter subjects, content included interviews, debates and musical performances. Viewers could call, text or e-mail the programme's studio to give their opinions on topics. The presenters chatted with four sets of guests, which consisted of interviewees, discussion groups and musical artists. Gráinne Seoige
Gráinne Seoige (; born 5 November 1973) is an Irish journalist, news anchor and documentary and entertainment television presenter. A noted Irish language supporter, Seoige is the only television personality to have worked with all four Irish terrestrial television stations—TG4, TV3, RTÉ One and RTÉ2—and to have read the inaugural news bulletins on three separate channels—TG4, TV3, and Sky News Ireland. Early life The eldest of four children, Seoige was born in Spiddal to Philomena and Mairtín Seoige. Gráinne's youngest sibling, her sister Síle, is also a television presenter. Síle Seoige
Síle Seoige (; born 13 April 1979) is an Irish television presenter. She has sometimes been referred to as Sheila. Early life Seoige was born in An Spidéal, County Galway, the youngest of four children, to parents Mairtín and Philomena. She attended Scoil Mhuire at primary level and Coláiste Chroí Mhuire at secondary level. After completing her Leaving Certificate, she was hired by TnaG to present a film show called ''Hollywood Anocht''. Síle was introduced to the public after Gráinne, her sister, departed for TV3. There she interviewed Hollywood talent like Bruce Willis and Meryl Streep. RTÉ One ( ga, RTÉ a hAon) is an Irish free-to-air flagship television channel owned and operated by Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ). It is the most-popular and most-watched television channel in the country and was launched as ''Telefís Éireann'' on 31 December 1961, it was renamed ''RTÉ'' in 1966, and it was renamed as RTÉ 1 upon the launch of RTÉ 2 in 1978. It is funded partly by the government's licence fee; the remainder of the funding is provided by commercial advertising. Joe O'Shea
Joe O'Shea (Irish: ''Seosáf/Seosamh Ó Sé'') is an Irish broadcaster and journalist. He lives and works in London & Dublin and makes regular appearances on Irish radio and television. Career Joe O'Shea was educated at St Mary's of the Isle Convent, Sullivans Quay CBS, Cork and Deerpark CBS, Cork. O'Shea began his career as a trainee with The Star newspaper covering 'bread and butter' stories in the 1980s. He would later cover stories on other food combinations such as fish and chips. In 1991, he became a staff journalist and over the next few years he interviewed celebrities, including Bono, David Bowie and Colin Farrell. Mickey Joe Harte
Michael Joseph "Mickey Joe" Harte (born 21 August 1973), is an Irish singer-songwriter. He represented Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 with the song " We've Got the World". Early life Harte hails from Lifford, County Donegal. Bosco (TV Series)
Bosco is an Irish children's television programme produced during the late 1970s and 1980s. It was produced and shown by RTÉ in Ireland. Designed by Jan Mitchell, Bosco was voiced by Jonathan Ryan initially, in the pilot series that was broadcast, with four presenters per show, in 1979. When the show went into full-time production in 1980, with two presenters per show, Miriam Lambert took over. From the 1981 season onwards, Paula Lambert took over. Bosco's name was chosen by Helen Quinn, sister of presenter Marian Richardson. It ran for 386 episodes, ending production in 1987. The multiple-camera setup, multiple-camera mode of production, multi-camera or simply multicam is a method of filmmaking and video production. Several cameras—either film cameras, film or professional video cameras—are employed on the set and simultaneously record or broadcast a scene. It is often contrasted with a single-camera setup, which uses one camera. David Norris (politician)
David Patrick Bernard Norris (born 31 July 1944) is an Irish scholar, independent Senator and civil rights activist. Internationally, Norris is credited with having "managed, almost single-handedly, to overthrow the anti-homosexuality law which brought about the downfall of Oscar Wilde", a feat he achieved in 1988 after a fourteen-year campaign. He has also been credited with being "almost single-handedly responsible for rehabilitating James Joyce in once disapproving Irish eyes".
