Selçuk Yaşar (Tram İzmir)
Selçuk Yaşar is a light-rail station on the Karşıyaka Tram line of the Tram İzmir network. The station consists of an island platform serving two tracks. Selçuk Yaşar is located on Selçuk Yaşar Street in Atakent, Karşıyaka. The station was opened on 11 April 2017, along with the entire tram line. Tram İzmir, alternatively known as İzmir Tram ( tr, İzmir Tramvayı), is a tram network in İzmir, Turkey. Owned by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and operated by İzmir Metro A.Ş., the system consists of two separate, unconnected lines: one in Karşıyaka, which opened on 11 April 2017, and the other in Konak, which opened on 24 March 2018. Karşıyaka
Karşıyaka () is a district of İzmir Province in Turkey. The district extends for twelve kilometres along the northern and eastern coastline of the tip of the Gulf of İzmir. Its centre is at a distance of to the north from the traditional centre of İzmir, which is Konak Square in Konak at the opposite coast. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. Karşıyaka Tram
Karşıyaka Tram ( tr, Karşıyaka Tramvayı) is a urban light rail transit (LRT) system in Karşıyaka district of Izmir, Turkey and is one of the two lines of Tram İzmir. The line with 14 stations began operation in April 2017. The tram line runs between Alaybey and Mavişehir railway stations. The tram line is a single track from Alaybey to Karşıyaka Pier, and runs from there on to Suat Taşer Amphitheatre on double track parallel to the coastline. The line terminates at Ataşehir station at the end of the Mavişehir railway depot. It is part of the Karşıyaka and Konak Tram project of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, which cost nearly ₺450 million (approx. US$ 120 million).
