Selby is a city in Walworth County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 610 at the 2020 census. It is the county seat of Walworth County. History Selby sprang up with the arrival of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad to the area in 1899. The town was named for a railroad official. South Dakota Legislature
The South Dakota Legislature is the legislative branch of the government of South Dakota. It is a bicameral legislative body, consisting of the South Dakota Senate, which has 35 members, and the South Dakota House of Representatives, which has 70 members. The South Dakota State Jackrabbits football team represents South Dakota State University in college football. The program competes at the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level as member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC). The Jackrabbits play their home games at Dana J. John Stiegelmeier
John Stiegelmeier (born February 7, 1957) is a former American football coach. He served as the head football coach at South Dakota State University from 1997 to 2022, compiling a record of 199–112. In his final season, he led the 2022 South Dakota State Jackrabbits football team to the NCAA Division I Football Championship title, the first national title in South Dakota State Jackrabbits football program history. Coaching career Stiegelmeier was hired as the 20th head coach of the South Dakota State Jackrabbits football program in 1997. In 1999, Stiegelmeier was named the North Central Conference Coach of the Year after finishing the season with an 8–3 overall record.
