''Awake'' is the third studio album by the American Ambient music, ambient music project Tycho (musician), Tycho, released on March 18, 2014 by Ghostly International. It is the second album in a 'trilogy' by the project, beginning with ''Dive (Tycho album), Dive'' in 2011 and concluding with ''Epoch (Tycho album), Epoch'' in 2016. To date it is his highest charting album in the United States peaking at 23. Critical reception At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from critics, the album received an average score of 69, based on 23 reviews, which indicates "generally favorable reviews". Tycho (musician)
Scott Hansen (born February 7, 1977), known professionally as Tycho ( ), is an American musician, record producer, composer, and songwriter based in San Francisco. He is also known as ISO50 for his photographic and design work. His music blends multiple stylistic components, including downtempo guitar, analogue synthesis, and ambient elements such as breathing and found sounds of weather broadcasts and dialogue. History Tycho's first EP, titled '' The Science of Patterns'', was released in 2002. The first Tycho album, '' Past Is Prologue,'' was released in 2006. At this time Tycho was a solo project created by Hansen. Tycho signed to Mom+Pop and Ninja Tune in 2019 but has also released music on Ghostly International, Merck Records and Gammaphone Records. Ramble Jon Krohn (born May 27, 1976), better known by his stage name RJD2, is an American musician based in Columbus, Ohio. He is the owner of record label RJ's Electrical Connections. He has been a member of groups such as Soul Position, MHz Legacy, and Icebird. His stage name derives from the popular ''Star Wars'' droid R2-D2. Dustin William "Dusty" Brown (born June 19, 1982) is an American former professional baseball catcher. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Pirates. Professional career Boston Red Sox Brown was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 35th round (1052nd overall) in the Major League Baseball draft. He was drafted right out of Bradshaw Mountain High School. Brown however did not sign with the Red Sox until May 2001, attending Yavapai Community College in the interim. On November 29, 2007, Brown's contract was purchased by the Boston Red Sox. Had the Red Sox not placed him on the 40-man roster, he would've became a minor league free agent. Originally published in January 1980, and widely known as the indie chart, the relevance of the chart dwindled in the 1990s as major-label ownership blurred the boundary between independent and major labels. The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums) in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums book only including this data. Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Ultratop is a non-profit organization, created on the initiative of the Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA), the Belgian member organization of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Two parallel sets of charts are concurrently produced and published, one on behalf of Belgium's mainly Dutch-speaking Flanders region, and the other catering to the nation's mainly French-speaking region of Wallonia.
