RJD2
Ramble Jon Krohn (born May 27, 1976), better known by his stage name RJD2, is an American musician based in Columbus, Ohio. He is the owner of record label RJ's Electrical Connections. He has been a member of groups such as Soul Position, MHz Legacy, and Icebird. His stage name derives from the popular ''Star Wars'' droid R2-D2. Life and career Born in Eugene, Oregon, Krohn was raised in Columbus, Ohio. He began making music in 1993. In 2002, RJD2 signed to El-P's record label Definitive Jux and released his debut solo studio album, '' Deadringer'', to much acclaim. RJD2 later collaborated with rapper Blueprint under the name Soul Position, releasing '' 8 Million Stories'' on Rhymesayers Entertainment in 2003. He released his second solo studio album, ''Since We Last Spoke'', on Definitive Jux in 2004. Deadringer (album)
''Deadringer'' is the debut studio album by RJD2. It was released on Definitive Jux on July 23, 2002. It features vocal contributions from Blueprint, Jakki da Motamouth, and Copywrite. Some editions include a hidden song on the last track, titled "Here's What's Left." The album was reissued in 2009 with two additional tracks. "Ghostwriter" was featured in advertisements for Washington State Lottery and Wells Fargo, as well as in the film '' Wimbledon''. Since We Last Spoke
''Since We Last Spoke'' is the second studio album by American musician RJD2. It was released on Definitive Jux in 2004. ''Since We Last Spoke'' peaked at number 94 on the UK Albums Chart, as well as number 128 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart. It includes "Exotic Talk", which peaked at number 93 on the UK Singles Chart. ''Magnificent City'' is a full American studio album by American rapper Aceyalone, accompanied by American hip hop producer RJD2. It was released on Decon and Project Blowed in 2006. Blueprint (rapper)
Albert Shepard, (born July 11, 1974), better known by his stage name Blueprint, is an American rapper from Columbus, Ohio. He is a founder of Weightless Recordings. Blueprint is one half of the duo Soul Position along with producer RJD2. He is also a member of the rap group Greenhouse (music group), Greenhouse (formerly known as Greenhouse Effect), which currently consists of himself and Illogic. The duo also run a podcast "Super Duty Tough Work" which airs on Youtube, Soundcloud, and other platforms. MHz Legacy
MHz Legacy, formerly known as MHz, is an American hip hop group from Columbus, Ohio. It consists of producer RJD2 and rappers Copywrite, Tage Future, and Jakki Da Motamouth. Camu Tao was also a member until his death in 2008. It was described by ''HipHopDX'' as "one of the city's most influential groups". History In 1997, MHz was formed in Columbus, Ohio. Edwin Maximilian "Eddie" Hayes, Jr. (born September 30, 1970), better known by his stage name Aceyalone, is an American rapper from Los Angeles, California, United States. He is a member of Freestyle Fellowship, Haiku D'Etat and The A-Team. He is also a co-founder of Project Blowed. Aceyalone is best known for his role in evolving left-field hip-hop on the West Coast at a time when the West Coast was dominated by gangsta rap. Definitive Jux
Definitive Jux was a record label based in New York City. It was co-founded in 1999 by El-P and Amaechi Uzoigwe. History Definitive Jux was initially known as Def Jux. However, popular hip hop label Def Jam Recordings sued Def Jux over the name similarity in 2001. This lawsuit was settled out of court and the name was officially changed to Definitive Jux. In February 2010, El-P announced that the label, although it will carry on selling its catalog and merchandise, would be put "on hiatus" as a traditional record label, and that it would be going through some changes in order to keep up with the evolution of the music industry. Rhymesayers Entertainment (sometimes abbreviated RSE) is an American independent hip-hop record label based in Minneapolis. History Rhymesayers Entertainment was co-founded in 1995 by Sean Daley (Slug), Anthony Davis (Ant), Musab Saad (Sab the Artist) and Brent Sayers (Siddiq). Former members of the Headshots crew.
