MHz Legacy
MHz Legacy, formerly known as MHz, is an American hip hop group from Columbus, Ohio. It consists of producer RJD2 and rappers Copywrite, Tage Future, and Jakki Da Motamouth. Camu Tao was also a member until his death in 2008. It was described by ''HipHopDX'' as "one of the city's most influential groups". History In 1997, MHz was formed in Columbus, Ohio. In 1998, the group released the debut single, "World Premier", which would be later praised by ''Complex'' as "one of the best and most underrated 12" cuts from Fondle Em Records' impeccable catalog". ''Fact'' placed the single at number 95 on the "100 Best Indie Hip-Hop Records of All Time" list in 2015. In 2001, MHz released a compilation album entitled ''Table Scraps'', which was described by AllMusic as "one of the quintessential of the Cowtown releases". ''MHz Legacy'' is the first studio album by American hip hop group MHz Legacy. It was released on Man Bites Dog Records on October 30, 2012. It features guest appearances from Danny Brown, Ill Bill, Slaine, and Slug. Production is handled by the likes of Harry Fraud, Marco Polo, and J. Rawls. Music videos were created for "Gone", "Somewhere", "Obituaries", "Outta Room", and "Satisfaction". ''Columbus Alive'' (also presented as ''ALIVE''), was a free online news site serving Columbus, Ohio. The site focused on local music, art, dining, film and culture. Formerly distributed in print form each week on Thursdays, the final print version of the alternative-weekly newspaper was published on July 3, 2019. The publication was acquired by ''The Columbus Dispatch'' in the first half of 2006 and the circulation at that time was approximately 55,000. In 2015, the ''Dispatch'' was acquired by New Media Investment Group, which later became Gannett. Circulation had fallen to 32,000 copies by 2019, which according to editor Andy Downing made the newspaper "no longer sustainable" in print form. ''XXL'' is an American hip hop magazine, published by Townsquare Media, founded in 1997. History In August 1997, Harris Publications released the first issue of ''XXL''. It featured rappers Jay-Z and Master P on a double cover. Marco Bruno (born December 26, 1979), better known by his stage name Marco Polo, is a Canadian hip hop record producer. Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, he is based in New York City, New York. Harry Fraud
Rory William Quigley (born January 26, 1987), known professionally as Harry Fraud, is an American record producer. Primarily a hip hop producer, Fraud began producing at an early age and began interning at a recording studio after graduating from high school. First discovered by French Montana during a recording session in Chinatown in early 2009, Fraud has since worked on each of his releases and become a fixture in the New York underground hip hop scene. Sean Michael Daley (born September 7, 1972), better known by his stage name Slug, is an American rapping, rapper from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Slug is best known as one-half of the hip-hop group Atmosphere (music group), Atmosphere, which he founded with Derek Turner (Spawn). George Carroll, better known as Slaine, is an American rapper and actor. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, where he spent his childhood and teenage years, Carroll moved to New York City in the mid-1990s, where he adopted the moniker of Slaine and started to rap and record hip-hop. In the early 2000s, Carroll became a growing figure in the Boston hip-hop scene, releasing several mixtapes, and the LP ''Stereotypez'' (2007) with his group Special Teamz. William Braunstein (born July 14, 1972), professionally known by his stage name Ill Bill, is an American rapper and record producer from Brooklyn, New York City. Having gained fame in the underground hip hop group Non Phixion, Ill Bill is known for his diverse lyrics and as the producer, founder and CEO of Uncle Howie Records. His brother Ron Braunstein is rapper and producer Necro (rapper), Necro.
