Sedat Bornovalı
Sedat Bornovalı (born 31 May 1970 in Istanbul) is an art historian (PhD), interpreter and professional tourist guide in Italian, English and Turkish. As an art historian, Dr. Bornovali has contributed to several publications and projects. As a tour guide and interpreter he has served several religious leaders, including Pope Benedict XVI, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople, as well as several statesmen, including Presidents Giorgio Napolitano, Abdullah Gül and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Dr. Bornovali is also coordinating the restoration and renovation of the Istanbul Italian Society’s Garibaldi House (Società Operaia Italiana di Mutuo Soccorso) in Beyoğlu. A knight is a person granted an honorary title of knighthood by a head of state (including the Pope) or representative for service to the monarch, the church or the country, especially in a military capacity. Knighthood finds origins in the Greek ''hippeis'' and ''hoplite'' (ἱππεῖς) and Roman '' eques'' and ''centurion'' of classical antiquity. The Gran Teatre del Liceu (, English: Great Theatre of the Lyceum), known as ''El Liceu'', is an opera house in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Located in La Rambla, it is the oldest running theatre in Barcelona. Founded in 1837 at another location, El Liceu opened at its current location on 4 April 1847.
