Secrets (Australian TV Series)
''Secrets'' is an Australian television series which screened in 1993 on the ABC. The thirteen part series was centred around "FIRM", a small, secret, government agency dealing with national security in a world where the old lines defining enemies and allies are now blurred. The perils of international organised crime and terrorist group activity have raised the stakes higher than ever before. ''Secrets'' was created by Jay Cook and Peter Gawler, produced by Jill Robb. It was written by Tony Morphett, Graeme Koetsveld, Deborah Cox, Everett De Roche, Tony Kavanagh, Glenda Hambly, John Cundill and Jay Cook. It was directed by Mark Callan, Steve Jodrell, Gary Conway and Kendal Flanagan. ABC (Australian TV Channel)
ABC TV, formerly known as ABC1, is an Australian national public television network. It is owned and operated by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and is the flagship ABC Television network. The headquarters of the ABC TV channel and the ABC are in Ultimo, an inner-city suburb of Sydney, New South Wales. The network began operating on 5 November 1956 as the ABC National Television Service, starting in Sydney, followed by Melbourne, with other stations being established in state capitals and regional areas in the following years. In the 1960s and 1970s, the network was also referred to as ABC National Television, or ABC Television. Until the introduction of digital television in 2001, the network was the only domestic television service broadcast by the ABC. Jill Robb
Jill Robb (1934 – 16 January 2022) was an English-born Australian film producer and executive who worked mostly in Australia. Biography Robb began in the film industry as a stand in for Jill Adams on ''Dust in the Sun'' (1958). Robb was a founding board member of the Australian Film Commission, inaugural CEO of the Victorian Film Corporation (now Film Victoria) and a member of the Film Victoria Board from 1983 to 1989. Robb served for many years on the Board of the Playbox Theatre Company during the difficult years following the 1984 fire. She left at the end of 1989. She was made a Member of the Order of Australia in the 2011 Australia Day Honours for "service to the Australian film and television industries as a producer, through executive roles with industry organisations, and as a mentor to emerging filmmakers". Deborah Cox (born 29 January 1958) is an Australian screenwriter and producer for television and film. Cox started working in the television industry as a production assistant for the Crawford Productions television series ''Skyways''. It was at Crawfords that she met her long-time writing and producing partner, Andrew Knight, and the duo would later go on to found a production company, CoxKnight Productions. Their partnership resulted in the development of the popular ABC TV series ''SeaChange'' and ''After the Deluge'', the Network Ten dramas ''CrashBurn'' and ''Worst Best Friends'', and the feature film ''Dead Letter Office''. Everett De Roche (July 12, 1946 - April 2, 2014) was an American Australians, American-Australian screenwriter who worked extensively in the Australian film and TV industry. He was best known for his work in the thriller and horror genre, with such credits as ''Long Weekend (1978 film), Long Weekend'', ''Patrick (1978 film), Patrick'' and ''Roadgames''. Career De Roche was born in Lincoln, Maine and moved to San Diego with his family when he was six. De Roche emigrated to Australia with his wife when he was 22 in 1968 and originally worked as a journalist for the Queensland Health Education Council. John Cundill
John Cundill (1936–2016) was a South African born television scriptwriter, playwright, journalist and actor. He is best known in South Africa as the television scriptwriter for ''The Villagers'' and ''Westgate'' series. He would later write several screenplays for Australian films and television shows. Early life Cundill was born on 30 May 1936 in Germiston, South Africa. His father, Algy Cundill was a mine manager at a large mine owned by Gold Fields.
