Babs McMillan
Babs McMillan (born 27 November 1955) is an Australian stage, film, television actress and director, playwright and teacher, based in Melbourne She is best known for her roles in two popular television series during the 1980s. Career McMillan played the acerbic Sister Erin Cosgrove during the final year of television series ''The Young Doctors'' and dimwitted country bumpkin Cass Parker in ''Prisoner''. In the late 1990s, she appeared in the Australian espionage drama ''Secrets''. McMillan has appeared in the movies ''Oscar and Lucinda'' (1997), '' Babe: Pig in the City'' (1998), ''My Brilliant Career'' (1979) and '' Hating Alison Ashley'' (2005). ''Skyways'' is an Australian television soap opera drama series made by Crawford Productions for the Seven Network. Production and casting The series, which aired from 1979 to 1981, was set at the fictional Pacific International Airport and dealt with the lives of the pilots, airline staff and management team who worked there. ''Skyways'' was mainly taped in a television studio where, in many interior-set scenes, Colour Separation Overlay created the illusion of a bustling airport with taxiing planes outside the window. Many of the exterior scenes were shot on location at Melbourne Airport. ''City Homicide'' is an Australian television drama series that aired on the Seven Network between 27 August 2007 and 30 March 2011. The series was set on the Homicide floor of a metropolitan police headquarters in Melbourne. The main characters were six detectives, who solve the murder cases, and their three superior officers. ''City Homicide'' did not return in its regular format in 2011. A six-episode mini-series titled '' No Greater Honour'' was shown instead which marked the closing storyline of the series. The mini-series guest-starred Claire van der Boom, Marcus Graham, John Howard and Graeme Blundell. Production The series' co-writers are John Hugginson who has previously worked on '' Water Rats'', ''Murder Call'' and ''Blue Heelers'', and John Banas who has written for '' All Saints'' and '' Stingers'' in addition to ''Water Rats'' and ''Blue Heelers''. ''Short Cuts'' was an Australian children's television series that first screened on the Seven Network in 2001. The 26-episode series was aimed at teenagers. It was financed by the Australian Film Finance Corporation and Burberry Productions. The series was subsequently repeated on the youth-oriented network ABC3 in March and April 2011. Premise Short Cuts depicts a group of students in a media studies class facing the challenges of growing up and using a camera to express themselves for their schoolwork. ''Rafferty's Rules'' is an Australian television drama series which ran from 1987 to 1991 on the Seven Network. The producers of the series were Posie Graeme-Evans (1987–1988), and Denis Phelen. The directors were Graham Thorburn, Mike Smith and Russell Webb. The writers were David Allen, John Upton, Tim Gooding and David Marsh. ''Rafferty's Rules'' was one of the first programs undertaken by the Seven Network's then new in-house drama unit, going into production in May 1985 as "a 15-part courtroom drama". The program had started out as a pilot episode, recorded in early 1984 with the actor Chris Haywood in the lead role. When the pilot episode was remounted later in 1984, Chris Haywood wasn't available and the lead role was re-cast to John Wood.
