Lights Poxleitner-Bokan (born Valerie Anne Poxleitner; April 11, 1987), known mononymously as Lights (previously stylized as LIGHTS), is a Canadian musician, singer, and songwriter. She is known for singles "Drive My Soul", "February Air", "Ice", "Second Go", "Toes", "My Boots" and "Up We Go", which have charted within the top ninety on the Canadian Hot 100. It was released on September 22, 2009, by Sire Records, with global distribution handled by parent Warner Music Group, although in Lights' native Canada the album is released instead by Universal Music Canada under licence. "Ice" is a song by Canadian singer-songwriter Lights from her debut self-titled EP and debut album '' The Listening''. It was originally released in April as a single for her EP. A remastered version of the song was featured on her debut album, and later released as a single on October 12, 2009. Background "Ice" is driven by a new wave synth line and includes a keyboard solo. "My Boots" is a song by Canadian singer-songwriter Lights. It was released on October 11, 2010 digitally in Canada, and was released on October 19, 2010 in the US and the UK. It is a song about Lights' love of winter. "My Boots" was supposed to be included in Lights' second studio album ''Siberia'', but was later cut out from the final track listing. ''Lights'' is the self-titled debut EP by Canadian recording artist Lights, released on iTunes on July 24, 2008. It was released as a 12-inch vinyl on September 16, 2008. Background Cover art The cover art is a picture of Lights that she took in her apartment in Toronto heavily edited in a "cheap program" she owned for her computer at the time. She color-blocked and re-outlined the image rendering it to what it is. The cover led some to believe that the vinyl was a calendar, which prompted some mistakable purchases.
