Searching (1952-1973) was an American Hall of Fame Thoroughbred racemare. Foaled at Claiborne Farm near Paris, Kentucky where the Wheatley Stable (founded in 1926 by Gladys Mills Phipps and her brother, Ogden L. Mills) bred and raised its horses. After the Second World War, Gladys's son Ogden Phipps purchased a number of horses from the estate of Colonel Edward R. Bradley and his Idle Hour Stock Farm. Among them was the good racing mare Big Hurry. Phipps bred Big Hurry (the racing daughter of Bradley’s favorite stallion, Black Toney, out of Bradley’s broodmare La Troienne) to the fourth winner of the U.S. Triple Crown Champion, War Admiral. From this match came a bay filly he named Searching. Searching raced poorly in her first 20 starts under Hall of Fame trainer James E. Gay Search is a British television presenter and journalist. She worked on the BBC television series ''Gardeners' World'' with Geoff Hamilton, and on the series ''Front Gardens''. Search started her horticultural career writing the garden column for ''Woman'' magazine, with help from Alan Titchmarsh, who prevented her from writing "daft" things. Abhay Bang and Rani Bang are Indian activists and community health researchers working in the Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, India. Together, they have overseen a programme that has substantially reduced infant mortality rates, one which has been endorsed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF and is now being rolled out across India and in parts of Africa.
