The ''Searching'' film series consists of American mystery- thriller screenlife films, including two theatrical movies, and one theatrical-streaming exclusive film. The plot of each movie centers around parent-child relationships, and depict the use of public records through technology in investigations of true crime. The films have been well received by critics and audiences alike. The original film starring John Cho was met with critical and financial success, with praise for its integration of found footage sub-genre "screen life", and its realism. The 2020 standalone installment starring Sarah Paulson was likewise met with a positive critical reaction, while acknowledging its campy elements praise was directed at the cast and the film's premise. "Searching" is a song by British pop-reggae duo China Black, written and produced by the duo's instrumentalist, Simon Fung. It was originally released in June 1992 on the UK independent label Big One but did not become a chart success. In 1994, it was picked up by the Wildcard label of Polydor Records and re-released in the United Kingdom on 4 July 1994, charting at number four on the UK Singles Chart. It was then released worldwide on 8 August 1994 and experienced success in Flanders, France, Germany, Iceland, and Ireland. "Searching" was nominated in the category for Tune of the Year at the International Dance Awards 1995. "Searching" is the fourth single from the album '' Elegantly Wasted'' by INXS. It was never officially released although scheduled for the UK market. The song was written by Michael Hutchence and Andrew Farriss and recorded by the band in Dublin during the summer of 1996. It is also the final single to feature original lead vocalist Michael Hutchence, who died exactly two months after the song was released. Trivia The song was previewed several months before the album's release in September 1996 at the Australian ARIA Music Awards. Due to record company red tape, "Searching", the scheduled third single from ''Elegantly Wasted'', was never commercially released. According to a Mercury Records spokesman, a minimal quantity of around 2,000 copies of each disc were pressed for promotional purposes, but upon the single's retraction all available copies were destroyed. Searching (1952–1973) was an American Hall of Fame Thoroughbred racemare. Foaled at Claiborne Farm near Paris, Kentucky where the Wheatley Stable (founded in 1926 by Gladys Mills Phipps and her brother, Ogden L. Mills) bred and raised its horses. After the Second World War, Gladys's son Ogden Phipps purchased a number of horses from the estate of Colonel Edward R. Bradley and his Idle Hour Stock Farm. Among them was the good racing mare Big Hurry. Phipps bred Big Hurry (the racing daughter of Bradley's favorite stallion, Black Toney, out of Bradley's broodmare La Troienne) to the fourth winner of the U.S. Triple Crown Champion, War Admiral. From this match came a bay filly he named Searching. Searching raced poorly in her first 20 starts under Hall of Fame trainer James E.
